I think we all have Matt, hopefully he gets back here soon....Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...
Worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Just get through today. Tomorrow will look after itself when it becomes today, because today is all we have to think about.
Friendship is not about how many friends you have or who you've known the longest. It's about who walked into your life, said "I'm here for you", and proved it.

Top of the sunday morning to all from the coveted, award winning beach pad as featured in the upcoming September Vogue magazine. Thanks to ALL for your thoughts. Ok here, just been spending time on the Nair forums. I am sober today, and will be sober tomorrow.
Techie, very sorry to hear of your loss mate. May Beth rest in peace. Take care of yourself.
Take it easy y'all.Last edited by Guitarista; August 22, 2015, 07:22 PM.

Morning from the beach pad.
Yo Pavi!
The young man is back in the arena. No whining, whinging or complaining from me. My kryptonite is emotions. Not uncommon amongst us, I know. Through the ups and downs that is this thing called life, I have been constantly working on this aspect of sober living. Yes, we all have to learn to deal with our emotions and triggers, but some may take longer than others. I've been slowly getting a handle on what/where these emotional triggers are and what they are. A bit of unpacking for a formerly free wheeling, carefree gypsy sort.
Anyway, back in the loop with quiet determination. G

I am also seriously considering some AL/life counselling-cheerleading from a psychologist I've found who specialises in addiction just to help me nail my path.

I think that's critical if s/he's going to be able to truly help you. I'm glad you're back.
Rather than lectures and interrogation, people here are just full of love, support and welcome.
This makes a fella feel good. Thanks everyone. :heartbeat:

Good here today thx. Day 4 but who's counting. Anyway, this means I'm starting to feel good again slowly. Off on some errands then either to the beach for a run in the wind and drizzle or gym, maybe both. Nice to see you as always. G

I guess the first week will be tough but if you keep your positive attitude - and brave the elements - thats a big step towards getting through the week. I used to hate running in the wind. Funny thing is that I did some of my best running when I was also drinking pretty heavily (but not at the same time!). I don't jog anymore - I stopped when I had a baby nearly 18 years ago - it was too hard to combine with breast-feeding. But I have always enjoyed walking and I am fortunate to live in a lovely place with walking opportunities galore.
You have a good evening.
