Afternoon Mick..One of the mysterious rabbit whisperers, are you? My old Dad used to teach rabbits to fetch sticks and obey simple doggy commands like sit and drop...never worked out how he could do that..(it was probably all done with carrots). Lovely bright sunny day here.

How long is it for you both...well ALL of you actually? I keep meaning to ask that...oooh look...a shiny thing...

Right, that's enough packing. Got most of it done. Felt completely out of it this afternoon for no particular reason, though it just occurred to me that it might be emotionals due to packing up..going through the old shite, then out of nowhere came this massive urge to go and get some wine...I was planning two bottles before I knew what I was doing...'ah it's the last weekend in the old house'....I read somewhere recently about the trouble some people have in the early days with impulsivity...bloody hell, I've had cravings before, but this one just flew at me out of nowhere and hit me in the face before I knew what was happening. It's gone now, but jesus that was unexpected. I kind of feel the same way as if I'd have gotten into a situation with someone who was being very hostile..can feel the adrenaline rushing through my system.

Well if/when it happens again, I'll know what it is...will certainly be on my guard over the next couple of days...the last really bad one I had was on the 2 week mark. I think I read on the PAWS thread someone saying about milestones being especially difficult

                        Comment

Saying that, I'm not going to go and think milestones will be difficult, every day atm is a milestone and they're not all difficult...TODAY wasn't difficult...that hour or so was just so unexpected. Bit scary really. BUT...another little victory.

Nick it?? A squeaky-clean, upstanding citizen like meself? That's how I try to approach it...if I was allergic to peanuts, I wouldn't be moping around going 'oh god, I really, really want a peanut'.

I think that's a big part of it..plus we're hardwired to equate achieving something with having a drink may also play a part.

Yeah it is. Funny enough I was writing a part of my anxiety presentation yesterday about panic attacks and the do's: observe, embrace, demand, trust..and the don'ts: resist, worry, fear...I think you can say exactly the same about urges.
