Dear Dottie - I keep thinking of you and wondering how you are doing. I can see why you just cannot believe this is real yet - it is going to take time. You have had some lovely suggestions here on this thread and I am glad that you are staying close ! I liked MB suggestion about which suit for him to wear - my heart just goes out to you so much - hopefully your church people are all standing by and supporting you.
Sending love and hugs to you, love, Sun XXHow simple it is to see that we can only be happy now and there will never be a time when it is not now....

Hi Nora - thanks for asking about my mum - they think that she had a stroke. Not sure and are doing more tests but they are wonderful people there where she is - whenever I call they are so helpful and friendly. I actually got to speak with mum yesterday too which was a relief for me. My mum doesn't drink - hates AL for lots of reasons - the doctor told me that the best way to explain what was going on with her was that it is as if she has been drinking ! Her speech, balance and co-ordination have all been affected ! I will be going home but not in the next few weeks - probably April or May. I need to touch base with her .....
Hugs to everyone else, Sun XXHow simple it is to see that we can only be happy now and there will never be a time when it is not now....

K9 - it's weird...She seems fine for hours and then suddenly starts repeating herself, or lets the faucet run after she's done washing her hands, and the her speech become garbled and one side of her face droops.....then after about 5 minutes, she's fine.
If you weren't sitting with her you might not notice it.
The problem is going to be living arrangements. I doubt she can live alone......I love my family more than alcohol.:h

Hi Jan - yes it is hard - but my mum is getting amazing care where she is and they will not let her go home until they are sure she can manage - she will go into a place in her town before they let her go home ... and it is all FREE! The NHS is amazing !! Where is nana right now ?How simple it is to see that we can only be happy now and there will never be a time when it is not now....
