I will Mama, no he wants me to go from 1 mg to .25 and quit within the month,there's no way, I tried cutting today and felt shaky,I have no back-ups for anxiety, so Shit,I dunno what to do,if the other doc agrees with this one,I'll hafta buy em off the street haha

It is highly important to taper off of this drug as opposed to quitting cold turkey. Cold turkey withdrawal may result in potentially dangerous symptoms such as experiencing a seizure. Some have stated that the proper way to taper off of Klonopin is by reducing the total daily dose by 0.125 mg (1/8 mg) on a weekly basis. So if you were taking 1 mg of Klonopin per day, it would take you approximately 8 weeks (2 months) to fully withdraw to 0 mg.

It is thought that tapering too quickly and/or cold turkey withdrawal can result in post-acute withdrawal symptoms. In other words, you may experience severe withdrawal symptoms that persist for months after your last dose. Additionally many people cannot handle the severity of the acute withdrawal symptoms associated with cold turkey withdrawal. Make sure that you always taper if you were on this medication for a reasonable length of time.

Thanks Dotsmy thoughts exactly, as I stated this morning, he's a nurse practitioner psychiatrist, and he's older looks ex-military, maybe has a pull your self up by the boot straps mentallity,I should have been tapering off a long time ago anyways, but could never get the al situation where I needed it to be,plus that dose has worked for me for years, I NEVER needed to go up,I refused to! I will definitely talk to my other doctor next week

I've got to go throw in another load of laundry. Thank you for all the support you have given me. We are ok - sad but that is part of life......we need to vacate his room at the assisted living or pay another month (thousands of $$) so we are driving up to help go thru things. Sad......

Moved mountains today. We got tires for Cjs car, shopped for back splash and plumbing supplies and started cleaning the cabinets inside and out. Still no water in the kitchen, but the faucets are in. Hubby can do it all! Maybe tomorrow he can put in the drain. I'm exhausted and I have to get up early. Good night my loves!

This is supposed to be a day at home for me, but now I will have my Explorer in the shop for service. :-( Well, I guess I should be glad I have the time to do it...but, GRRRR....this is what happened to my day at home last week.

Nora, I am glad you are in touch with Kradle and I am glad she is doing well. I always liked her and I miss her.

Dottie-I don't know how cold it is in Ohio but yesterday it was 5 below zero. Come on, summer!!!

Morning all,
Off to the gym then we have a plumber coming to look at a few things. I dont want dh to do it then it will cost more when the plumber will have to fix the mess. He means well I know.
Hoping we can go dancing tonight. Supposed to get up to freezing so not as cold.
pauly and K9 hope u are feeling better we miss hearing from you.
Rusty I hate it when my car is in the shop. i feel so lost without it. Hope I dont get to the point where I cant drive any more that will be a sad day for sure.

Hey all, having a don't want to get outta bed morning, took a shower then jumped back in haha,I'm lucky that hubs works in a shop and has a lot of his tools at home,something is always popping up so it's good glad Kradle is doing well, I do miss her though K9 too,but I know that feeling of being so sick you don't have the energy to post,hope she gets over it fast,gonna go make a protein shake, back later gators

Pauly-I am just a smidge jealous right now that you are in Vegas. I am fantasizing about being there and staying at Billagio (sp?). Not that I could afford to stay there more than 1 night....I've only been in their shops and in the lobby.

K9-pop back in and give up dates on your life....my life is fairly dull so I live vicariously through you. Hahhaahhahaha. Just kiddin'

Rusty, living here is just like living anywhere else, we stay in our neighborhood and such, don't do all the cool stuff like when we used to visit but I do love it here,I dunno why anyone would want to be anywhere else
