MossRose, so sorry to hear of your best friend's diagnosis. Like Cowboy, I have a success story. It is me. Surgery, 6 months of chemo that at most made me a little nauseous and tired, no hair loss. That was 12 yrs ago.

I know you will be there for her.

Hi Moss, I hope you're having a better day, and I'm hoping I can make it even better by saying

        on your 7 month milestone!
Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...
Worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Just get through today. Tomorrow will look after itself when it becomes today, because today is all we have to think about.
Friendship is not about how many friends you have or who you've known the longest. It's about who walked into your life, said "I'm here for you", and proved it.

Thanks, Cowboy!! I'm feeling good today. I went and got my hair done, then picked up some groceries, and cooked a good meal. Nice way to celebrate, I think. I'm lucky. I got zinged this week, but I was already not feeling well and my desire to drink was zero. I doubt I could have drank AL even if I had wanted to (which I didn't). I haven't even been able to drink a cup of coffee in over a week. Who would have thought that was possible?

I was a wreck when I learned about my friend's illness, but she is so calm about the whole thing that I decided to join her We decided that being Zen will probably serve us well. Damn, I love her. Her attitude is infectious.

I just spent the last hour looking up things that were suggested to me on the Green Thumbs Gardening thread. It's wonderful. If you grow plants, check it out. Rags started it, and I have gotten so much good advice already. It's in the General section.

          Take care all.
