How are all your gardens doing??
Okay I have everything planted and since its been raining so much here I have not had to water anything yet. I went out and checked it yesterday and one of my dogs decided to fertilze one of the pepper plants for me. Yuk!! It is fenced in but the gate is broke. I guess I should be glad that my two Golden retreivers did not dig it all up.

Sammys, I don't have a vegetable garden, but flowers are exceptionally pretty this year. But I cannot get my english ivy to grow. It's between the stepping stones coming up to my house. I think its to sunny for it. plus my golden, Reardon keeps whizzing on it. I don't know what is in that dogs pee; but he can kill darn near anything with it. I joke and tell Greg we should bottle it and sell it as the ultmate weed killer!

How are all your gardens doing??
Hi Sam!
I am in the southeast and we've not had any rain for weeks....well...10 drops fell day before yesterday!
It has rained all around us but not ON us!
We have almost everything on drip. If it's not, it probably wii not make it.
I'm headed out now to fill some deep holes with water before I put in new compost soil and plant some red hibscus and hollyhocks.
I know you don't need this advice because of your rain but for folks with dry soil, this is what I've done.
I usually add "water holding crystals" to my soil to help retain moisture but I couldn't find any at stores here so I bought a pack of cheap baby diapers and soaked them in a pail of water; tore them open and added the swollen crystals to my potting soil.
I then threw the rest of the paper diaper into my compost...
I hope your rain moves down here! You probably have too much!
Love you all,
Nancy

Bought some Clematis to climb up my front step railing, am excited to see if that will look as pretty as I think it will."Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced"

How are all your gardens doing??
My garden is doing great. We have had a ton of rain. I just finished a BLT (for breakfast) with a tomato from the garden. I was having trouble with the birds eating the tomatoes and bell peppers but we got some netting and covered them and now they are flourishing. The birds are very mad. They are trying to pull the netting off but they cant.
I also have cukes and herbs. The flowers are also beautiful, the hibiscus are thriving and the gardenia smells heavenly. This is my firs year to garden here and I like it.

Gita, I have deep puple clematis to climb the lattice of the high side of my house. I am built into a rolling lot one side being 3ft off the ground the other 20ft. So, I planted these about 3 years ago and they are just coming into there own. I think we may live near each other so probably have similar weather. Just be patient with them. when they come they are beautiful!

My roses are flourishing this year! Some of the blooms are 6 inches across the center! Just beautiful!
Our back yard is filled with jasmin. We have an old apple tree out back and the jasmin vine has completly enclosed the tree it's in full bloom. When I open the sliding doors to the back deck .. the whole house is filles with the scent of jasmin.
Still have Rhodedendrons blooming out front & back too.
Blueberries soon!
Our fence was down most of the winter..so the strawberries have gotten pretty well trampled.:upset:
Hubby mowed down my Raspberry patch again (the back yard "clear cutter!) he gets a bit carried away! thinks he's tidy-ing up...(what can ya do.. he grew up in the suburbs...) can't teach em much! He's allowed to use his weed wacker.. but not MY chain saw!The only thing worth stealing is a kiss...:flower: zwink:

Hi Sam,
I'm growing some veggies.
My leeks have come up nicely as have my cabbages.
The onoins started off OK but they seem to be disappearing. Ithink somethings been eating them.
The rest of the stuff is still to pop it's head out.
I'm going to try and grow some melons in pots now that the frost has finished. (We had a frost last week)

Well, much to Belle's dismay, my Aerogarden on my kitchen counter is doing great. My tomatoes from seed only have leaves and I am astonished to see that the leaves on one plant are all different in shape.
And it looks like the stems have short whiskers.

Too funny that you say that frog because my house is on the market and people come through it often. I know they think I am growing pot! And the circulating water makes noise and really draws attention to my experimental tomatoes!!!
