I'm feelin' the love, people! Missy I'm so happy for you - warms the cockles. I do hope the Wellington embuggerance buggers off.
Reggie I love your fuck ups. I know it always comes from a good place...I just stay away from the threads that shit me.
Jones most excellent to see you, and Tawny, and Happs, and Raggsie , and Techie et al.
I had the annual CT scan last week....really stressful but I didn't make a big deal, went on my own and got the all clear. So that's 3 years now.
      Lots to be thankful for.
Formerly Angelcakes, new name, new attitude.

This is an "Its all about me" post :-)

We had such a lovely weekend!! On Friday, we ("we" being me and Mr B; my "sort of" daughter and her birth mother; two friends that I've known since we were 10 and their partners and kids; and my brother and his partner) all hung out at an AirBNB that I'd rented for people to stay at, and made decorations. I had been totally inspired by a friend who is really into re-cycling; and almost all of the decorations were recycled - off Freecycle, or stuff like jam jars that we decorated with tissue paper and ribbons. I did however, go to town on flowers - I found an on-line wholesale florist in Melbourne and order tulips in bulk!!! If anyone wants to know the details let e know - but I reckon the flowers would have been at least 5 times the price if I'd bought them from a retail florist.

Saturday morning everyone turned up at 8am, and we all decorated the hall together. I have a friend with an eye for decoration, and this is what she did ......... it was amazing and just what I had hoped for :-)

The venue was just across the road so we walked over, and spent 15 minutes talking to people before we started, which was really nice. The ceremony was very short and sweet - three of my great nieces and nephews (aged 8, 5 and 4) did this reading

Then we had a handholding blessing/thingo; exchanged vows, made a statement about marriage equality, signed the bits of paper, and that was it :-) We managed to strip all references to husband's and wives out of the ceremony, except for the bit that we were required (by the Marriage Act) to say; and it was all rather poignant and lovely. Everybody had a great time, nobody got drunk and nobody stayed too late :-) So we were tucked up in bed by 10:30 :-)

The food was absolutely fantastic and this is what was on top of the cake ......

It was absolutely everything we wanted it to be - very simple and lots of fun. But I'm quite glad to be returning to normal life :-)

That's just made me heart sing. And reading the "All I really need to know" words made me cry. Happy tears.

Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful event with us. You are a class act, Missy.

Happs, Rags and I aren't catching up until the 23rd, so if your yoga commitments are over by then it would be lovely to see you.
