Hi all, its been a while.
Hope you all are well.
Great to read that the Army thread is still going strong.
Thinking of you Tabbers, i ve been there so many times.
I ll never forget the support I got here in my very early days.
Happy to report, I am doing ok and content and will be a yr AF in almost 2 weeks.

Anyway, its nice to see the lovely Army members still going strong and wishing Tabbers the very best of luck.
I dont like to preach about AA but it is working for me.

Morning army missing Prince this morning coming in for his food and rubbing his body and face round my legs. Other 2 cats are in and asleep. I will get over this but will be hard to forget him as this is the 3rd cat I lost in over 5 years the other went missing and were never found. Sorry to go on. Well done Damo and nearly reaching a year whatever works keep it up. I'm not big into AA but I go to meetings now and then and keep intouch with some people I met there on FB and I havemet up with some one for coffee recently who is 23years sober. Have a super sober Sunday.:happy2::love:

Morning Foxy, sorry you are feeling raw this morning, imo you shouldn't feel that you have to 'get over it'. Prince was a part of your life and should be remembered fondly for the joy he brought. Now then you make a fuss of your other two today and just enjoy the simple companionship they bring.

Morning Tabbers and Molly. Thanks Molly for that the other 2 are asleep still on on the chair in the bedroom and the other at the end of the bed. Off to Greece on Tuesday Satz nice one. is the dreaded sis in law going this time too? My Thai trip is getting near we will be on July 14th which is Tuesday and a 10 o clock long flight.

Sorry Tabbers meant to say thanks also for kind words. It might a bit difficult to avoid drink away with some of my family for 2 wks but i'll do my best and try to keep to some af beer or other drinks. May be one day soon it will not be a problem I can promise anything now but if it happens i'll be back on track when its over. Losing my pet doesn't help but my other 2 male/female are fine TG. Not sure if older brother Ollie will be about missing his younger brother being only 6 months and they were a bit close. younger sister Lily may not be so bothered as she sometimes bullied her brothers. But we will cope.

what a fabulous trip to look forward to Foxy ---- how do you feel about pressure of drinking/not drinking when you're away? I know holidays can be a trigger to lots of us...... tell me to mind my own business if you want:happy2:

Deffo a trigger.
I had friends saying "you'll have a drink on holiday surely ?? :egad:- not a holiday without a glass or two of wine with dinner. Just have 1or 2?"

I will admit here I had thoughts of why can't I do that ?
Then I remembered - one or two with dinner was not my problem. My thing was to have a few at lunch and then that started the longing & wondering when more was coming. I'd end up topping up all day to feel better.
Took a few returns to 'holiday drinking' to realise I was not enjoying it.

So NO - I will not put myself through that again !!! :cower:

PLUS I am a brat and love to be different & say NO !!!!
