              GG...I DO THAT to...listen I have a claening lady and I have tons of nicknack things...if they are not back in the EXACT spot I have them in, which is never...that would be impossible, I go through the whole house slighty moving everything back by little pushes after she leaves when I get home from work.
              I don't count, but I say the color of everything to myself in mind head constantly. And I say it by order of imporatance, for example a stop sign I would say...red then white because there is much more red than white. I am CRAZY...

                  Guys, this has been so much fun to read, you all made me think of a few that I forgot about myself. GG ,I also count constantly in my head sometimes it involves certain numbers currently its 3's, Soccermom I hate to drive over bridges for fear they will collapse. Luv I also know when someone has touched or moved my things even 1/4 of a inch. I have to put it back where it was. Also cannot stand anything on my hands dirt flour,anything powder like, drives me crazy. Ripley I love you sweetheart, But swallowing the baby teeth? I have never heard of that. See all we are are special and unique and this has been fun! I love all of you!

                    The cutting of skin (incisions, stabbing etc)....can't watch anything where skin is cut. I get this weird feeling in my stomach like pain (so far I've been lucky with the kids only getting minor skin injuries).

                    O-my teeth.....hate the baby teeth falling out. I'm with you satori! When I was reading the swallowing of teeth I got that ill feeling. I have this thing with teeth falling out. When I drank I'd have nightmares about my teeth falling out & becoming brittle-grossed me out. Found out that it signifies turmoil in one's life-duh.

                    I can hyper-extend my knees.

                    Have to plate my food in a certain way-starches at 2:00, vegies at 11:00 and meat at 6:00.

                    other than that I blame OCD.

                      I can not eat a McDonalds burger, of any kind, without eating several french fries with each bite

                        I always match the letters in the alphabet with the corresponding number..and then add then up altogether in my head for a specific word.. I'm a freak. I even count how many steps I take from each room, comes in hand in the middle of the night when it's dark and I have to go to the babies room. I dont need to turn one light one.. I'm still a freak though. :upset:

                        I sometimes get this fear of tripping and smashing my teeth on the pavement.. I have spent so much money on my teeth that I'm scared to death of knocking them out.

                          GG, you are not a freak we all have little quirks, quite frankly if I were to go through all of mine you would probably run from me. What's so wrong with knowing the number of steps in the dark? That way you don't have to wake the baby with the light. As for falling on the pavement and breaking your teeth. Who wouldn't be afraid of that. GG, I am so calorie obessed I sit around constantly counting how many calories I have consumed in a day for fear of gaining weight. Your perfect the way you are!

                              I am seeing a lot of similarities in behaviour popping up here.

                              Perfectionism in various forms.

                              I too hate live albums coz the clapping and cheering "spoils" the music and am perfectionist to the point of obsession!

                              I have even been known to straighten documents on OTHER peoples desks when in their offices, so they line up with the edges of the desk!



                              I have often wondered - but my father was perfectionist and I wonder if I am using alcohol to self medicate for the stress of trying to live up to impossible goals / expectations.

                              I wonder if I am still trying subconsciously "gain my father's approval" but believe I can't get there - so use alcohol to "escape".
                              Pretty sad at my age if that is the case!

                              Deep stuff for a Friday!

                              Anyone else here with parents with high expectations / setting the bar real high - even subconsciously???

                                Forgot to say - also have certain OCD type behaviours

                                - religiously recording exercise sessions is one and it bugs me if I do not have the correct colour of pen to hand so the records are all the same etc.

                                Keep a diary of all mountains I have climbed, tick off climbing routes in guide books that sort of thing.

                                Perhaps OCD typr behaviours and alcoholism go together - any psychiatrists / psychologists out there?
