OMG lush- I did that in college so that I would not eat the chip and get the calories! Only the nacho cheese flavored of course.

Do tell something odd about yourself
I just love it that we're all so weird, ahem lovable. I have to cut labels off of every top I own and most of them have holes where I've cut out the labels. The labels make me homicidal - son has the same phobia. And yes, I tickle my arms softly when I have trouble going to sleep.

Ive had the crumbling teeth dream MANY times and I HATE it too!!!
I also HATE live albums.
I have to count everything to make sure its off before I leave the house. For example, in my kitchen, there are 4 burners on the stove (typical), and the oven button (so thats 5 "counts") plus there are outlets that I make sure dont have anything plugged in them (ex coffee maker etc) - there are 3 outlets I check (so 6 "counts") - the only thing that is allowed to be left plugged in is the microwave. And the faucet is the 12th "count" (to make sure its off) - and as I count the faucet to make sure its off, I have to run my hand under it as I am counting it during the first round of counts (I have to do two rounds of counts). During the second round, I can do it quickly but I CANNOT run my hand under the faucet. I sing the count to myself in a specific song. I also do this in the washroom. And I check the front door three times.
I HAVE to knock on wood if I say something ominous or something I think could jinx me or someone else in ANY way. It doesnt matter who I am around. It must be done.
A black cat ran across the road in front of my car this morning and I almost had a heart attack.
I am very alarmed at the sight of vomit.
I also have a fear of open doors - especially closets and especially at night.
I have recurring dreams of having to crawl through very small spaces in houses. Its absolutely terrifying.Over 4 months AF :h

Do tell something odd about yourself
Gotta join this thread now...I am definately one of the ticklers!!! I LOVE a light tickle of the arms and feet!!! AND, yes, I will sometimes tickle my own to soothe myself, but it is infinately better if someone else is tickling. The inside of the upper arm is the BEST!! Puts me in an absolute trance!formerly known as bak310

I am so lost on this tickling thing. Isn't it funny how many things we have in common though? Teeth dreams, counting and tickling seems to be the theme here.
And Jenneh, your post made me laugh.I'm really easy to get along with once people learn to worship me

I think we drink to escape our crazy heads. Mine is always racing unless I have a drink. I keep telling myself to "Be Still" but my head just won't.
And now I am on a race to get out the door and into my office -

Reading with great interest
Wow, I think this is one of the most intriguing threads in MWO history! What I'd give right now to be a grad student looking for a dissertation topic...
Seriously, I do have a question of clinical interest. Clearly, there are many shared characteristics among our members (or is the general population just as screwy; our group is simply more honest, ha.). But my question is for those of you who have posted or are lurking and suffer OCD-type symptoms:
If you are following the MWO program and have incorporated Topamax into your plan, have you found the OCD symptoms relieved? I believe this would provide an added bonus--if you find them bothersome, that is.
Here's an overview of what some researchers have found in a report called CPA: Therapy-resistant Obsessive-Compulsive Patients Respond to Topiramate . In a nutshell, preliminary data seems to indicate that a subset of OCD patients resistant to traditional treatment respond very well to Topamax.
Studies such as this onecorroborate those findings.
On the other hand, I've read data indicating topiramate may actually induce OCD behavior. Do any of you taking the medication feel your symptoms are worsened by it?
Information we collect here is anecdotal, but valuable nonetheless, and certainly fascinating!
Thanks as always for your honesty and willingness to share.
Please don't let my research post muck up the vibe--this thread is a hoot. :H
