I set the alarm this morning so I can enjoy the longest day of the year.............and also Mr JC has gone to work so I've got a free gaff 'til lunchtime.

Good morning ladies, he sheepishly types (is it possible to type sheepishly he wonders?) trying to feel a little proud but tbh all I have at the moment really is a little relief tinged with the pain, regrets, and disgust of recent months. However one can't live in the past and must learn to forgive oneself, today is a new day and I am sober and trying to be thankful for that gift, which I intend to jealously guard.
It's a lovely morning and I am going to spend a good deal of it in th great outdoors.

Now to be serious........it will change.............I'm coming up to a big anniversary but will I ever forget the look of pity from the man at the shop when I was trying to buy vodka at 7am............probably not.....and its only about this time of year I think of him..........but he did me favour. He's probably forgotten all about it when I go in now.

And a big fat YES to jealously guarding it.................its all yours and its as precious as the most precious jewel in a precious jewellery shop.

Yeah I know JC, thanks. It's good to remember these horror shows I think, once we forgive it just strengthens our resolve.
I was in the shop yesterday morning treating myself to a Danish and there were two guys in front of me buying extra strong cans of cider and smokes. I had a brief conversation with the girl at the counter who refers to them as the 'can gang'. This was 10.32, the licence opens at 10.30, she told me Sunday is worse when they come in 'rattling' (her word) as it doesn't allow for the sale of AL till 12.30.
The whole episode just saddened me a little and made me thankful for what I have achieved in the past two weeks.

HAHA --- believe it or not --- library folks are EXTREMELY rebellious -- so I'll take that as the ultimate compliment:applouse:

The lady that use to have this house before us is a librarian and about a year ago ran off with one of the borrowers (not the little people) after about 35/36 years off marriage.
