Hey guys, I'm here. Worked today. It was my long day. It was actually quiet which is nice once in awhile. Hubby came for lunch which he hasn't done in awhile. It was nice.
Nora, I have no plans for the weekend and that scares me. The thoughts were with me today too but I'm not giving in.
Fen, you certainly manage to keep yourself busy don't you? You go to meetings everyday? May I ask a question about AA? When you have completed the 12 steps, then what? Do you still attend or is there something afterward? Just wondering.
Pauly, I think I caught something from you. My nose is runny and I'm sneezing. Feel fine though. Las Vegas made the news here because of the rain. Did you guys hear about our little earthquake? It happened about 30 miles from here. I slept through it.
    Have fun Dottie.
Rusty what are u up to this weekend?
Mama, I'm sure your exhausted from your week in Atlanta.
Well off to walk Lucy now that it's cooled down a bit.
    Have a good night.

Hi Liz...yah, the idea is that you complete the twelve steps, but continue to take personal inventory for the rest of your life. Keep going to meetings and offering wisdom and experience to others when asked for it.

Hi... I'm sitting in the salon with dye on my hair. White roots are history.

Fen - is your group a speaker meeting or a meeting where you share?

Liz- it's going to be so hot here that I don't know what I'm doing this weekend either. My son has bugged me to get back to the gym so I'll probably do that. And read

Howdy everyone! Love lurking on this and the Umpteenth Quit thread! It's great to see so much support from and to each other!

Just a comment to Liz, when I was active in AA, one of the old timers told me that if you read and follow the 12 Steps, you are never really finish them. It made sense to me....

Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...
Worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Just get through today. Tomorrow will look after itself when it becomes today, because today is all we have to think about.

Yes, that is what I am gathering. It's so nice to be in a room full of people who know exactly what it is we go through. No judgment whatsoever.

                  What are titmice?

Thanks for responding cowboy, I'm still going to the group at the church. We have completed the 12 steps and I still go. They are starting over again. They have stopped for the month of August and will resume after Labor Day. I was resistant at first, but you know, they're a nice group running it.
So I read somewhere that with AA you attend meetings everyday?

Liz, there is no rule to attend AA everyday, unless it's "court ordered". Most rehab centers and even a lot of AA members will suggest you attend 90 meetings in 90 days when you first start your journey. I think it is because if you can get in 90 meetings day after day, and stay sober doing it, you will have 3 months of sober time, a very good start on long term sobriety. Most AA'ers do a weekly meeting and attend more when they feel weakened by outside pressures...

Had a great night at the food truck event. It was packed. Paul is a great guy. Wish he was retired but I cant change that.
We are spending the day together then he leaves tomorrow for a week of training. We will see how much he communicates.

It's normal to have those thoughts...please remember what happens if you act on them, though...waking up in the wee hours anxious and withdrawing from A...feeling terrible the next morning. Push those thoughts out of your head and treat yourself in another way. Maybe you and Scott can go to a movie...go out somewhere and have a nice time together.
