Good morning. Went out to friends for dinner yesterday and had way too much to eat. The food was wonderful and the best I have eaten for a long time. Everyone got drunk and I got (inwardly) so annoyed with them--I think my baby boomer generation are at so much risk of alcohol damage. So nice to wake up still a bit full but not hungover, embarrassed, and worried about what I might have said or done and ready for the day. Mr A looks and feels like death!

Sounds like you had the best of the night Mrs A. Much wine flowing at any occasion is the norm. Great it annoyed you, rather than bothered you. I'm not relishing these social events. 2 invites for this weekend, but only work things, so excusing myself.

Looks like I have missed all the early birds. Social occasions, I don't have that problem, no one ever invites me anywhere. Well with the exception of the invite that I have for the leaving do in the pub tomorrow night, which I am not going to. I dont trust myself to say no after ten mins in a pub just yet.

im the same tabs, i dont get invited very often so that was a help at the start. but now i have a party to go to next week and i havent put in the practice of sober socialising.

Ya know when I get a few weeks under my belt and my sober head on I have no interest in going near a pub, there is nothing there for me,as I have told myself on more than one occasion.
