x post there Roxy, tbh I find the first couple of times out is generally fine as my resolve is strong, it is after that when the trouble starts. Having said that I am giving friday night a miss.
Ethanol is a toxic chemical, why would I drink it?

just shows how different we all are. my resolve was strong too but habit and social anxiety would have made it almost impossible to deal with. i visited friends for coffee for instance and the craving as i went home was enormous. huge. that has receded, as has the craving when going home from anywhere. ah, i just realised im talking about triggers. thats it, the triggers have receded. got there in the end :thanks:

Afternoon army meeting my sister in law for coffee at 2.30 and then I might head in to Bray to Lidl and Euro giant for some shopping. Sober socialising is something i'm not comfortable with yet if i'll ever. If theres a lot of drinking its tough and can bring on a craving and other times i'm ok. I usually try and leave after a couple of hours. Drunk people I can only took in small doses talking crap and nearly falling on you when u are unfortunate enough to be sat next to or corned by them. My dr's appointment is tomorrow to get med script and a note for council. Best get something done around and get ready to go out. Have a lovely holiday whizzy wish I was going away again tho its another lovely day but not as sunny as yesterday.

Hello Army, seems like when I go to an event where people are drinking, they tend to hover together and ignore the nondrinker(me) suits me just fine I too was never into the pub/bar scene either luckily, even in my heaviest drinking days, hope everyone is enjoying their day, mines just starting and I'm not sure if I need more coffee or what, groggy, have a good one
I have too much shit to do today and tomorrow to drink:sohappy:

I'm taking care of the "tomorrow me"
Drinkin won't help a damn thing! Will only make me sick for DAYS and that ugly, spacey dumb feeling-no thanks!

Yes, I suppose you are right Rox, triggers are all different.
I dont mind the pub too much, not that Im there very often. We're not near public transport so I would often drive. Its home drinking, dinner parties and get togethers that I do and will struggle at. Cant avoid the cousins bday party/ communion etc.

              ANyone every try hypnotism?
Im always looking for the quick fix!

                      Evening lovelies,

We'll have your back Mary, early days you can spend a lot of time using white lies eg antibiotics, tummy problems, diet. keep the mantra of 'I do not drink' going and we'll have cake when you get back.

Pauly, I'll come stand in the corner with you.

Got a banging headache as they ( meaning workmen) sealed the drive with something that smelt very, very nice ages ago and now is make very, very nauseous.

They're not doing it again.....they had to wait for it to settle or something like that or find this specialist witches brew to finish it off.
