We got into her parent's liquor cabinet and I can still remember hugging the toilet bowl that night! Wasn't funny then but I laugh at the memory now. Seems like from the very beginning I didn't have a shut off valve.

I can blame them but I won't - that was 40 years ago.
- but I sure as hell remember my last time.
I documented it to ensure if I EVER think alcohol is a good idea - even the elusive 1 or 2 -I will read it and be reminded.
Did not puke or anything dramatic but the horrible lost feeling of being in the clutches of something that was controlling me.

I remember drinking some of my parents champagne when I was abot 10, I hated it and could not figure out why they drank alcohol every night, or why my dad always wanted a drink when he got home. I do remember the warm sensation of drinking it though, and since then don't mind champagne at all.

Seriously, what the hell? If you do not think that this is a good thread -stay away. No one is forcing you to read. No one is forcing you to post -right?
To you naysayers, have you given any thought to the FACT that this thread might just help someone who is just beginning their alcohol free journey? This thread might not help you, but it might just help someone else.
Please, this negativity must end or the site will end -is this what you really want? Sometimes to lose really means to win -in the long run. If you do not have positive or neutral feed back, please do not respond to a post or a thread. You who continue to do so are a cancer that baffles the mind!Last edited by Spiritfree; August 15, 2015, 07:14 PM.

Spiritfree,
Tried to send you a pm but your mailbox is full. Did someone just post something mean and then delete it? Whatever happened, folks need to be respectful and not hurt feelings. Move on from a thread if it's not a fit. No need to hurt or shame the initiator of the thread. Let's just play nice here.

Whiskey was rubbed on our gums when we were teething. I find this rather unimaginable, but it is true. I do not count this as a drinking experience though.
I can't remember how old I was when I first had a beer? Maybe 15? I do remember the first time I was drunk though, on tequila at age 18. OMG, that was just terrible.
We were all so sick and everyone in the house ended up drunk. It was the 4th of July. Even her brother was drunk, who never did anything wrong as I remember. It ended up a very un-fun evening.(AF since 17 May 2014) 2 years 5 months sober
