        Hi all. Our dog is fine. We spoke to the boarding facility manager. The fire named "Butte Fire" began on September 9th. It is now 73% contained. Our home is out of harms way. We live on a golf course which is a natural fire break. However, our community and environment has been dealt a heavy blow. We know several families that have lost everything. The poor wildlife. All our favorite hiking spots are gone. The entire area is a charred mess. Sadly, this type of fire is so prevalent in a severe drought like the one we've been experiencing. Thanks for your thoughts.           Hello Undies. Things have settled down re: Butte Fire. We just have to deal with some smoke damage issues when we get back. Not sure if it'll require new paint but I am very grateful to be spared of anything worse. We leave Tibet tomorrow morning for four days sail on the Yangtse river. Although I am anxious to get home, I'm resigned to try and enjoy the rest of this amazing trip. Hope everyone is well. Love you!

                        Hi Undies. Finally back home. I will post some pics in the coming days. We are heading out tomorrow to survey the wildfire area. It is wonderful to be back in California. Much cooler weather after four weeks away. Even the trees are sporting a bit of color. Hope you are all well.

                              Didn't really like that house Mr G.... not my style.
                              I liked that one at Watsons Bay a couple of years ago.
