Thanks for all your encouragement guys-makes me feel so supported to know that you all feel my elation at my tiny first triumph.

Nancy,as for what brought about my first baby step?.........don`t really know myself what finally spurred me to do this............only know that for so long I have felt almost like I have been underground, clawing at the soil with my bare hands, yet no matter how much I clawed, I still couldn`t "see the light". I don`t expect this road I now choose to be in any way easy, but I now see the merest chink of light, and am going to fight to secure "my way out".

Thankyou so much my friends, for M.W.O. and all of your dear selves, have finally given me hope in my heart.

Fantastic news!! You are on your way - one day at a time. Just think of it this way - you only have to resist the urge to buy something now, which to me is easier than resisting the urge to drink. By the time you find your car keys, get your purse, put on a sweater, whatever - you should have talked yourself out of it. I always pretend I have only one decision to make per day, which is not to buy anything. Then I can't drink. Spend the money you are saving on a new dress!!!
