Hi - finally, I'm here!
I haven't been able to read back yet. The painters have been here for 2 days so we had to unplug the router. Every time that I tried to post from work yesterday, somebody would walk up to my desk. So, I would get a sentence typed and have to either close the screen or just post what I aready had written.
Tried to check in on my phone a few times today but hubby and I have been running around all day. We were driving past a Goodwill and I saw an armchair sitting out front. I stopped and we looked at it. $20.00!! It's comfortable - worn and needs to be cleaned up but it's just what we needed. It's even a recliner. We have been trying to figure out a comfortable chair for my Mom without going out and buying a new chair. A friend was going to give me a chair but it wasn't really comfortable and since Mom just sits there so much, we were hoping to find something else.
You should have seen us trying to get that dang thing in my car. Hubby kept saying that it wouldn't fit and I kept saying that I wanted to try. So, he was not very happy with me. Then he scraped up his knuckles. Then a girl came out to try to help. I finally admitted defeat after hubby was bleeding. But, then the girl said she would send out her male co-worker. Hubby gave me the look but I told her Oh - that would be great. :devious: The guy came out - looked at the chair, looked at the car - and said The back comes off. :stupid: So, it fit in the car just fine. LOL
Well - I need to read back and check on everyone.."Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me.".....Carol Burnett

Geez, just lost my post! Nora, good job finding that chair, even though it was tough getting it in the car. Sorry about hubs scrapes. Your smiley made me laugh.
Got our new roof and it looks beautiful!!! Truth be told, if I didn't know it was new I wouldn't be able to tell. A ton of money, but it had to be done. Good for another 30 years. Lucy was a little freaked by the noise initially, but once we introduced her to the workers she was fine. Got some pumpkins and some mums for the front of the house. Looks beautiful!
Pauly, hope visit with mom goes well! It's just a few days, you can do it.
Mama, enjoy your weekend and relax before another busy week.
Fen how's your weekend going?
Skendall, Dottie rusty and anyone one else I missed, hope you had a good Saturday.

Good morning, my peeps.
Dottie, I'm glad that you and Jon are getting on so well!
Nora, that chair sounds like a great find. I was garage saling yesterday, but I didn't find anything spectacular. Pauly, that's funny about your kid and his friend having to duck down on the floor for your tables!
I think I'll hit the gym.
B and her pal are at in Green Bay for the Packers game and I am surrounded by A and her very erudite folks. I have been hiding out in my basement lair most of the time. I can't wait for those two gals to get home tonight!

Morning folks - I'm at work for a few. Geez - I have so much that I want to say. I was planning on posting more last night but had to give it up. It was so hot yesterday and after the painters left, I tried turning on the air conditioning in the living room. But, I got really sick from the smell of the paint so I had to bail and just go lay in the bedroom in front of the floor fan.
I'll be back after I take care of what I need to here at work.
Have a great Sunday everyone."Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me.".....Carol Burnett

Hey Mama - glad to see you. I've been thinking about you.
Fen - I don't know if I ever posted this - this was from the other day when I kept getting interrupted. I agree with Liz - I'm glad Mrs Fen was jealous. She is the one that is so anxious to get a girlfriend and she is playing games to try to hurt you. I'm sorry that you are going thru this.
I hope that B got home and you are saved. LOL
Liz - I hope that you had a good day today with your family and friends. How did it go? How great that you got your new roof.
Pauly - I had to laugh at your story of stuffing furniture in your car. :harhar: Is your heat going to let up anytime soon? Ours is supposed to cool down into the 80's towards the end of next week.
Dots - Jon sounds like a nice guy. How was the dinner? I've always found it so interesting to learn about different cultures/religions.
SK - how are you feeling? I hope that you are feeling much better. Those were scary symptoms.
Rusty - where are you now? Did you get to go home for awhile? How many weeks out of the year are you traveling?
Waving to everyone that drops by here. Everyone is welcome. :welcome::hiya:"Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me.".....Carol Burnett

Good Morning, Steppers! I am home for the whole WEEK! Yippee! This is the vacation I should have had in July. Hahah! I had a 4 day audit cancel this week, which is why I am off....yes...that is a chunk of income but I will make up for it sometime next year, I think. :-)
Lots to do today and then a funeral tonight. So sad. The sister of my friend's sister's husband was murdered two weeks ago...shot to death by a guy she dated whom she met on the internet. This woman was bright, educated, successful...and 46 years young. He was stalking her and then broke into her home. Makes me want to NOT date even more.
Do you all remember MWO member sunshine_gg? I had a lovely conversation with her a couple of weeks ago...and we laughed and laughed. We talked for over an hour and would have kept talking, but I had to go to the bathroom!! Hahahah! She and I have the same goofy sense of humor. She's Canadian and used to post under the old Canucks' Thread. Well, Sunny is doing great. In just a few days, she will have been sober for 2 years. So many times, we ask people what made their last quit stick. With Sunny, she posted on the thread that she woke up in her truck, and the front end was smashed. The sign for her business had been knocked down, and she was in severe pain. She had no idea how it happened, but she said "THAT'S IT!" She never picked up a drink again and immediately started going to AA. She has found a whole new group of friends there and loves the fellowship. She is full of laughter and positive energy. Her business is soaring, and she's had two more grandchildren...who are absolutely beautiful!! She stopped posting because when MWO changed websites, she had a horrible time trying to get logged in and she just said forget it. I was so glad to have had the time to talk to her. I was in St. Louis at the time and chatting with her just made my whole trip more fun. We hadn't spoken since her dad passed away over a year-and-a-half ago and we vowed this time, "No waiting another year and a half to talk!!" Hahaha!
Skendall-how are you feeling? Are you still getting headaches? I am worried about you.
Nora-you are so sweet to ask me about my work and my travel. No, I don't have a particular territory...literally, it's the world. I was fortunate to be able to go to Japan, England, France, Spain, Mexico (didn't like Mexico...dirty, blech!) and Canada. I still COULD go to France once per year but I don't want to travel abroad anymore for work. I worry about my mom and if something happens, I want to be a short plane ride away, not a day-long flight. Nora, you always take the time to address everyone, even though you have a demanding job and a family. I really appreciate that!:heartbeat:
Fenny-Mrs. Fen doesn't want to be alone and she's getting back at you because you broke up with her...even though she deserved it. So, she's taking whatever she can get in the dating department. My bets are these women don't even know she's probably REALLY not interested in them....they just fill a void. We love you here. Hey, I had an idea for you for a new job/career. Someone I know is the head groundskeeper at American Family Insurance. She's been there for over 30 years. She doesn't have a bachelor's degree...she, like you, likes to be outside and active. The benefits are phenomenal. I bet you would be good at landscaping and keeping the grounds looking beautiful. You have a passion for people...who not transfer that passion to nature. Just a thought. ;-) :-)
Mama-how was the b-day party?
Liz-did you make it through the party without drinking? I know how hard that was for you to see all the beer and wine. Just the thought of my family watching me like a hawk back in 2008-2010 made me want to drink even more.
Pauly-I laughed about the Camaro and the furniture story..especially seeing your kids crunched up in the car. Hahah.
Dottie-Best of luck with Jon. I know there are a lot of internet dating success stories, but this story about my friend's sister-in-law shook me up.
Ok, who did I forget? FT? Where are you and how are you? ABC? How are you?? Techie, Mr. G...a cheery hello.
Well, I am off to start my day. Happy Monday to everyone here!
