Sorry, folks...I've been so busy the last couple of days. Mom has a cold, so I spent a lot of yesterday hauling her around and calling her doc's office. She has a standing order for antibiotics when she gets a cold- the stuff always settles in her chest (because of COPD) and she ends up with pneumonia or bronchitis. I urged her to call, but she hates punching all the numbers she needs to to talk to a live human.
She also decided that she needed more tubing and cannulas for her O2, so I took her to the home health place to get that stuff. I honestly don't know what will happen to her when I am working.
I got up at the butt crack of dawn to take her old cat to get a lion cut at the vet's office, but they'd neglected to inform the groomer that she had an early appt., which pissed me off royally.
Also...I made the mistake of stopping at the house yesterday. Mrs. Fen is out of town and has hired the ex cat sitter to bring in the mail, garbage cans, etc. I liked this woman and hoped to be friends with her, but I'm kind of turned off by the idea, now. She left a note for Janet praising the beauty of the home and all I could think was that the place was cool because I made it that way!
That and my current living situation threw me into a terrible funk. I'm okay, though. I didn't do anything stupid.

Oh, and I think I'm getting my mom's cold. I hate to bitch about her, but mom keeps going on and on about how she got a cold because she was so cold all day Sunday at my brother's kid's house. I don' t bother to tell her any longer that colds come from viruses. :furious: I guess I can't blame her...it's only been common knowledge for the past hundred years or so.

You're right, mama. I am SO glad my mom is still around. If she hadn't quit smoking (cold turkey!) twenty years ago, she wouldn't be here right now. Still, two packs a day for forty-five years took their toll. Thanks for letting me vent, my peeps.
I do indeed have a cold. I was really spacy at the noon meeting, which was huge. I wanted to show up because one of the women from my emotional sobriety meeting is leaving for Mexico tomorrow- until June! She winters there. I really wanted to wish her farewell. My sponsor brought a massive bowl of cut up fruit to recognize her departure.
I feel like I have ice picks in my ears, lol.
Barb is up north visiting her folks this weekend, so A and I are having veggies that we like for supper! Barb hates peppers, but Alice and I love them. I'm probably going to add cauliflower and green beans to the meal. I think I'll make the squash and veggie soup that my sponsor made for the book club meeting last Sunday, too...maybe tomorrow. We tend to go "wild" culinary style while Barb is away, lol.
I assume Dottie is with her new beau. :heartbeat:
It's really chilly here today, but the leaves are gorgeous. Overcast and trying to sprinkle, but I think the grey skies make the colors more pronounced.

I am home and all is well. Hubs is out drinking with the boys and the kids are off doing their thing. I am home alone and feeling a little lonely, but we are all fine.
Kiss your Mother, Fennel, and have fun on your trip Lizz. I SO need a vacation!
ps....I have to work all weekend...ughI love my family more than alcohol.:h

We'll miss you too Liz! Have a wonderful time, but no drinkin' eh! :hug:Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...
Worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Just get through today. Tomorrow will look after itself when it becomes today, because today is all we have to think about.
Friendship is not about how many friends you have or who you've known the longest. It's about who walked into your life, said "I'm here for you", and proved it.

Have fun Liz.
I have a lot of work to do today, but right now I am sipping coffee and watching new episodes of The Walking Dead on Netflix.
I have been doing a lot of thinking about AL and I am going to stop for a bit. I just talked to hubs and of course, he is very supportive, but he won't quit. I just cannot keep up this pace and be on my game and allow myself to indulge. Plus I take meds that I have no business drinking on.....so there you go.....I have made it public. Wish me luck....it's going to be hardI love my family more than alcohol.:h
