One Step at a Time - November 2015

Good Morning loves.
I am sending over all my new hire paperwork today. I have an owner coming to town tomorrow, so tomorrow is my first day. Mike and Mark are obviously NOT the control freaks I just left. They have not even done my background check and I am meeting with an owner at a property I have never been to.
Guess I'll be flying by the seat of my pants, which I am pretty good at.
Nora - I am so happy you are with your mom. A fire sounds lovely. You always seem so content when you are there.
TMY - I am in Jacksonville...where are you in FLA? Frequent Traveler lives in FLA too.
Fenny - I need you to come help me set up a home office and get me organized. Plus, I wish I could you away from home for a bit. You could hike on the beach here.....????? :-)
Pauly - I am sorry Kelly got fired. Is she ok?? I saw your FB pics and Lizz's vacay pics and they are all good.
Dottie - please come back.
I have texted K9 three times and have received no response.
More coffee and off to write a massive email to my new boss with all the questions I have.

Hey Starty - great to see you. You have allergy problems too? I'm allergic to cats, trees, grass, dust and on & on. I just am all stuffed up and uncomfortable. What is your weather like now?

Mama - does the mucinex help you drain? I am so excited about your job. I am still so angry at that BITCH but I am happy that this seems like such a better position.

Rusty - Thanks for your kind words, as always. Yes, to be honest, I am appalled by how the house looks. Just not the way my Mom ever had her house. But, I can't do much about it in the time that I'm here. Of course, I'm doing some but this needs a deep cleaning. I don't even know the last time my Mom's sheets were changed.

Pauly - feel better. Monday mornings. YUCK!

TMH - I have never golfed. The partner you had yesterday doesn't sound like much fun even if she was a good player.

Well - I better get with it. Mom is still asleep so this is my chance to get some stuff done.

Pauly, allergies? This is a bad time for hubby and two of my kids. Hubby claims it's the dog. Well he had to use his inhaler in the middle of the ocean with no dog or tree in sight! Who knows what it is. Years of struggling with allergies I'm sure. He uses an inhaler and it helps. Do you have one?
Shopping today. Got Lucy these adorable flannel pjs. She loves being warm and doesn't mind wearing stuff like that at all. She was so cute.
Anyway, Mark is home and I need to get dinner going. Trying a new recipe tonight, roasted red pepper soup. Let you know how it turns out.

I am trying Squash Risotto with roasted shrimp! I went to get eggs and bread and came home with a new meal to try!
I am allergic to FLORIDA.....I never had sinus issues until I moved here. Nora - the mucinex helps with congestion and keeps anything from sticking........if that makes sense.
I am sorry about your Mom's house. Nana hired a maid to help her. Her OCD would not allow a dirty house. It makes her NUTS. Of course, if your Mom has Alzheimer's, the poor thing won't even notice. Isn't your Mom going home with you?
Lizz - the outfit for Lucy sounds cute.
I have been cleaning the office I have not stepped into for years. I am a sweaty mess, but really excited.
The BITCH has created quite the stir in my little town....everyone is talking so ugly about. Gossip spreads fast in my industry. That's why I have always tied to do the right thing by people.
Off to clean some more.

Gosh, Nora...you're allergic to cats? You HAVE cats! I wondered if I was allergic to them too, because when I took mom's Mooch in for his lion cut, my sinuses closed up immediately. Thing is, he's a very "dandery" cat. I wonder if it was that that caused my reaction. I'm allergic to dust, too (dust mites, actually) and as I've gotten older, I have seasonal allergies.

Mama, that's so weird about your sinuses and FL. My uncle Chet was born up here in WI and moved to Okeechobee...he said he never had any sinus problems in FL. He always suffered when he came up to visit family in the summer. I think your new job will be a good fit for you...and I wish I could come and stay with you. I would cook for you every day and have the house looking awesome. Hiking on the beach is my idea of a good time!

Liz, I had a bad weekend. Just so sad about the divorce and how Mrs. Fen seems to be doing just skippy without me. It hurts. I shouldn't compare my insides to her outsides, however...

Nora, that's too bad about your mom's house....maybe your brother will need a housekeeper? Guys are often not really on top of all that needs to be done in a house. I imagine that his sheets haven't been washed, either. There are housekeepers who will strip the beds and start the wash upon arrival and change the sheets.
Barb's mom has alzheimer's and wow...she puts dirty clothes in the clean baskets and when we were there in June, I found food stuffs stashed in the basement shelves...rotting. It's so hard to keep on top of their activities, because often they are very "active" in the house, stashing stuff where it doesn't belong and won't be found for quite a while.

Fen - :hug: :hug: :hug: I'm sorry about Mrs F seeming like she is doing just fine. I don't think that's the case - I think that Mrs F has closed off part of herself to avoid being hurt. Because some of the things that she has said and done have been so hurtful but then she'll text you to buy her pants. I think you are going to come out of this on the other side in a good place - maybe even better. Mrs F is going to have these feelings pop up later that she is suppressing now.

Well - Mom was sleepy this morning and wanted to go back to bed and asked me if I wanted to lay down. I said yes so that she would lay down. Guess who woke up 2 hours later with no Mom in the bed? LOL

Think it's just going to be sandwiches for dinner.

Aww fen, I'm sorry you had a sad weekend. I wouldn't be so sure about Mrs fen being all skippy with this. 16 years has got to count for something and I'm sure she was happy during those years. How could she just dismiss you with no feelings left. Could she possibly just be putting on a good front.
Nora, glad you got to sleep in a bit this morning. Could you hire someone to clean or just help.
Mama, I excited for you. I'm glad people see "her" for what she is. How did the dinner turn out? My soup was delicious and super healthy.

OMG Lizz....dinner was yummy. I tried not to be a complete carnivore and used chard and leeks and other veggies in the risotto. The boys inhaled it.
Fen - I am sorry for the pain you are in. Are u sure there is no way we can get you down here? I know you are a loner, but you could hang at the bed and just sleep here.
Today is my first day out in the field to meet everyone, so let the shenanigans begin. I plan on being quite (I KNOW, right?) and just observing. Time for a shower and my beauty routine. I'll check in later.
