Here's my issue...this is the first year I don't have to be responsible for buying tons of presents for Mrs. Fen's wealthy family. I want to enjoy Christmas this year! But I hate that Santa is already at the mall (which is all decked out for the holidaze) and that there are so many radio stations playing Christmas carols already...it makes me sick of the whole thing by the time it arrives. Truly, I am looking forward to not having to do the Mrs. Fen Christmas ordeal this year, however.

Fen, the biggest problem is we put Santa and gift giving over the real meaning of Christmas.Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...
Worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Just get through today. Tomorrow will look after itself when it becomes today, because today is all we have to think about.
Friendship is not about how many friends you have or who you've known the longest. It's about who walked into your life, said "I'm here for you", and proved it.

I really don't like the whole retail frenzy around Christmas, or how early it starts.

Hello all
Quick check in.
Came home to take care of the dogs. I have someone to let them out but I like to make sure they are OK and it is just a 30 minute drive.
Christmas this year will be very strange for me. Jon is Jewish and this will be my first holiday as a widow. No plans as yet just going to see how it goes.
I am also going to resign from the train club. It was hubbs hobby and I went along for the fun and time we could share together. I run a couple of things for them that I will be glad to help someone else take over. It is just too hard for me to attend the events when he is not there. I need to make new hobbies for me.
Thinking about you ALL!!

Hey all - just checking in. Haven't really had time to post because my brother & his friend are in here watching tv & talking. I did take a nice walk today so that was good. It hasn't worked out well before for me to get out & walk so I really enjoyed it. Got it in before the rain.
Fen - I remember how you dreaded those Christmases. And, honestly, it just didn't sound much fun. We just like being together.
Pauly - sorry that you're going thru that. All I can tell you is that it does get better. I didn't think I would ever get over that.
Sam - Santa is supposed to be at his castle in the North Pole building your motorcycle. :harhar:
What is everybody up to today? Oh - I forgot that it's Friday. Work. Well hope everybody is having a great day!"Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me.".....Carol Burnett

Sam- I hope you get your motorcycle. He he!

Is anyone reading this now? What happened in Paris? I can't turn on the news on TV because it would upset Mom so I'm searching the internet."Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me.".....Carol Burnett

Good Saturday, Morning, Friends,
Isn't that sad about the terrorist attacks in France? I am watching the news right now and it says 70 Americans are unaccounted for in Paris. Apparently suicide bombers targeted 6 locations. I do not miss traveling overseas at all. Apparently, ISIS is claiming responsibility. Frightening....absolutely frightening.
My last day of leisure was spent doing paperwork and resting. This time change has kicked my butt.
Nora, you are a real trooper and I totally admire and support your decision to have your mom live with you. Guys don't get it when it comes to our mother's needs. I have two older brothers and they are clueless....good people...but clueless when it comes to my mom's personal needs.
Fenny-I am sorry you were down and I hope you are feeling better. How was your interview? That's wild that ex Mrs. Fen was very close to where I was working. Is she stalking me? LOL. First MN, now IL. Ummm....I don't think she'll follow me to Salt Lake City on Monday, will she? Hahah. So glad you don't have to do the massive gift-buying this year. I hear you on starting Christmas wayyyy too early! I think, though, Fen, it's the retailers who push the earliness of Christmas. If they can make more money by having Santa appear before Thanksgiving, they will do it. Whatever happened to Thanksgiving being a holiday? Now all the stores except Nordstrom will be open on Thanksgiving. Grrrrr...
Dottie-it seems like your relationship with Jon has really progressed.
Mama-you poor black and blue baby. I hope you are not still sore today. This job won't entail weekend work, will it?
Pauly-I hope you are feeling better today.
Hi Lizz-what are you doing today?
Hi to Skendall, ABC, Samstone and anyone I missed, have a happy Saturday!!!
