Hey guys. Believe it or not, just got home from work. Had a quick bite to eat and now headed to the airport to pick up Mark. Just checking in.

        Hi all
I am home from my trip with the old folks. Really good time. My bff and I shared a room and had some really good conversations about life and love and coping. Her husband has Parkinson's and is not doing well and he and my husband were close too...ate way too much and brought too many goodies home...but it is the holidays...LOL
Will try to catch up this weekend.

Hello all - quick check in from the sick house. Hubby is very sick - even running a temperature which is very unusual. Son is coming down with something. My throat hurts. Mom keeps clearing her throat. I just pray that Mom doesn't get sick. That would not be good.
Had a nice evening anyway with son, his GF and Mom. Poor hubby was in bed.

          Dottie - how you doing?

Liz - was your son going for an interview or did he already get the job?

Fen - how are you doing?

Mama - I hope that you can convince hubby to just let it go. You have been struggling with this for so very long. Big congratulations for being in the business journal. That is very impressive (rub that ex Boss's (or B***H) nose in it!

Rusty - What are you up to this weekend?

Pauly - How is Kell feeling?

Catch you all in the morning. I have an appointment with my therapist in the morning. I was going to cancel because of Scott being sick and Mom being here but I decided it would be a good idea for me to talk to her.

Nora, please keep track of hub's temperature...adults shouldn't have one over 101.5. Maybe you should give him some ibuprofen to knock it out. I'm sorry he's so miserable...did his sinus infection start out as a cold? I really hope the rest of you don't get it, especially mom. Does she get flu/pneumonia shots? I drag my mom in for a flu shot every fall- yikes, I'd better get her in next week! I agree that you should see your therapist in the morning...you need to take care of your needs, too. Once we start lapsing in that area, things just go downhill.

I had a busy day. Worked out, came home and showered, went to a meeting, drove to the other side of town to buy another pair of jeans and a sweater at Eddie Bauer, ran back to the east side to dose up mom's cats with his kidney meds, went to good will and the hospice thrift shop, went to the market and went home. And did the mattress pad, sheets and two loads of clothes in the wash. At eight o'clock, I joined other AA's at the detox unit for an AA meeting with the residents. This was my first time and it was very powerful. It's after midnight here, but I am all wound up from it.

Mama, yes...I think the "stinger" analogy was what that inmate was going for, LOL!
I'm really sorry about your court debacle. How frustrating this whole ordeal must be.

Geez, Pauly, how early do you get up?! The shift was only three hours, so even if I were so inclined, it wouldn't have been worth it. And Eww about your dad's gf telling you about the tats on his nether regions...what kid needs to hear that?

Liz, are you covering for your absentee coworker again? I hope you can have a relaxing evening.

Hi, Dottie. Sorry about your bff's hubs. How sad!

OMG, I'm not around for a couple of days and you guys are talking tattoos down nether! Got me laughing, thanks for that!
Nora, sounds like you've got your hands full. Your mom sounds so sweet. I hope you're not all getting sick. Yup, that would not be good.
Fen, wow, how could you fit a job into your busy schedule?
Super busy week at work. No Anna has not been absent from work. We just have soo many patients! I'm thinking people just want these procedures done before the holiday next week and yesterday being Friday we had a lot of really sick in patients. I'm hoping it'll slow down a bit next week. Anna is taking vacation the first two weeks in december
Mark has been on four interviews now. Yesterday he was in Detroit for an interview with Ford. He's been offered three positions. He will most likely take the one ten minutes from home. The best salary/benefits and sign on bonus. Plus he won't have to move out and pay rent.:welldone: so proud of my boy. He has exceeded my expectations. He was always kind of shy and quiet but this kid is a freaking go getter. Mamas going to a good nursing home:thumbsup:
Anyway, off to the dentist, ugh. Happy Saturday!

                Hey all

Liz - you should be proud of your son. Fantastic. Hope the dentist went ok. Yuck!

Fen - I'll bet that was a very interesting AA meeting. How many people were there? Was it an open meeting or a speaker meeting?

Mama - when are you going to be in the business journal? I want to look my friend up. Have you & hubby decided what you are going to do regarding the foreclosure?

Pauly - are you working today? I am sure not an early bird like you are. That's for dang sure.

Rusty - guess you are off having fun, I hope!

I went to my therapist this morning and I needed that. I scheduled an appointment for the Saturday after son surrenders. I have a feeling that I'll be needing to talk to her then.

Anyway - things going ok here. It's so hot today. This weather is crazy. It is almost 90° today. I turned on the air conditioner.

It's been so quiet on the threads. Seems like I sit down in the evening and that's when everybody is done for the night. Are you guys trying to tell me something?!? :harhar:

Nora, I guess you could say it was a "closed" meeting, lol! The people we had the meeting with were folks who were picked up off the streets or from public places from being dangerously drunk. First, they have to "detox" on one locked up side of the building- while they are in that stage, they don't mingle with the other people. The people we had the meeting with are the ones who are out of the dangerous detox phase and who will be transferred either to jail (depending on their circumstances), a halfway house or the streets.

It's an outreach thing our clubhouse does, to try to show folks that sobriety is possible.

Funny that it's so hot where you are...we got four inches of snow last night! : )
I'm really glad that you saw your therapist. I think it's very important to not let yourself fall through the cracks while you're looking after everyone else.

Liz, that's great news about Mark...good for him!

Looks like your early December is going to be rough, however. How does somebody get two weeks off at the holidaze like that?

Pauly - have you always been an early riser? Not me. I'm surprised that your weather isn't as hot as ours. They keep talking about how we are going to get hit with El Nino - won't be enough to take care of the drought but it sure will help. Did Kell start her new job?

Fen - I think that is really great that your group did that Outreach program. You really seem to have met some nice people in your AA meetings.
Wow - snow! I saw some posts from relatives back in Illinois and they were showing pics of the snow.

Yep Nora, always been an early riser, haven't needed an alarm clock since I was 15,probably cuz I had all the kids so young,Kell did start her new job but she's not feeling it,I told her just keep it through the holidays and just be looking around, she's lucky in that she's still young enough to find the right shop to build up in,shoot when I first moved here it took 5 salons to finally find this one that I've been at for 12 years, its a pain sometimes but I'm comfortable there

Yes - that is good advice for Kell. Just hang in there thru the holidays and look around.
I'm so impressed by you not needing an alarm clock. I had to put a thing on my cell phone alarm that makes me do math problems before I can snooze or turn it off. :harhar::rotlf::sleeping: (and I still managed to answer the questions, turn it off and fall back asleep.

Pauly, I can't imagine getting up that early without assistance!

Nora, you are a talented woman to be able to perform math problems while you're dozing...I can't do them while I'm awake! :rotlf:

Pauly wish I was an early riser! I hate my early days at work. Who can think like that in the morning Nora? I know I couldn't,
Fen that outreach thing is a great thing to be involved in. Good for you.
Went to the movies today and saw the hunger games. The kids read the books so hubs sissy and I tagged along, what a dark movie! It was nice to get out together. Erin and I went to a Christmas craft fair which was fun too.

You should see me when the alarm starts going off. Ok - you really have to sit back and picture this:

                                Song getting louder
