Dunno what to say on this one Molls - the f*cker
    Let's try be positive:
He wasn't paying social insurance for employees. A PRSI stamp ? Can't have been that many employees were there? And I don't think that can be paid now anyway ?
If none of them had a claim - ( and you'd have heard before now from Social Welfare or the ex-employee if they did ) - then I'd say you are ok.
Or was it PAYE Income Tax ?

[QUOTE=IamMary;1642251]Just had this conversation a couple of hours ago with my friend in work (if you are she, you look different to how I pictured you!). After years of long hours she decided to take a back seat - works harder than most of the team, but without a willy, she's going nowhere [QUOTE]

Just had an interesting conversation with a girl I've known since infant school..............so that's 50 cough years. Don't see her or speak to her very often so over the last few years when I've seen her sort of hummed and hahhhed about my drinking...........finally tonight after much faffing told her the truth.

Did she drop down dead with shock ?..........no................

Did she say 'I thought you were looking and sounding better than I've known for years but I couldn't put my finger on it?'.................yes.

We'll have to call Satz: The Jet setting Riode

JC, wasnt that lovely - sure we dont know what goes on with other people behind closed doors. After 50 years, most people have seen plenty and are not shocked.

I was wondering earlier, was I ever a normal drinker - I dont think so now.

I know Mary - you starting to get flashbacks? I got them for a while too. Still do sometimes.
I'd cringe when I remembered. It's like the fog clears and everything comes back -and you wonder why you ever thought it was ok

I know. I suppose im stupidly trying to figure out the Why. At what point did I become dependent. But there was no reason, bad childhood or incident. It just is and probably always has been.

I obsessed on Why, Mary. Turns out its because I regularly drank an addictive substance that I had the capacity to become addicted to. Almost everyone who tries meth or heroin will become addicted so no one asks why the person who took it did. Plus, everyone knows meth and heroin are terrible, illegal drugs that no one should take. Those drugs are the problem. Alcohol is dicier - it is legal, people like it and don't want to give it up, and not everyone is wired to become addicted to it. But for us, it's really no different --- alcohol is the problem. The tricky thing about identifying the point of addiction is that you're probably past it by the time you think to ask if you've got a problem. Thank goodness we're done with all that, right???

I am one of those who gets addicted to anything mind altering. Both drugs and booze unfortunately. I think the reasons are varied and complex and never just one thing like tough childhood, parents being addicts or mental illness. I also think that there are an awful lot of people that have a problem who haven't yet realised.

Day 11 here. My friend asked me if I was feeling my pink cloud. Not yet I don't think. Did anyone else feel that? Bit headachey this morn which doesn't help plus work is stressful.

Hope everyone else is doing OK?

Molls I cannot believe what you said about your accountant!! He should go to jail. I do hope you are managing to sort stuff out a bit ?

                              Morning lovelies,

Ahh the pink cloud........think I was about 14 days in and had a big droop at about 5/6 weeks.

Morning Starty Jc and all to come. I don't think I experienced a pink cloud moment but as the days tick by always grateful to wake up without a hangover and most days feel contentment or a good day quite happy but there are the low days too where I get a bit stressed and some depression but i'm dealing with it better. Coming on here and AA meetings are a big help for me as I couldn't do it alone. Drizzly rain here and grey skies.
