WE watched a rubbish movie instead after I bribed them with the contents of a small sweet shop if they agreed to tape it an watch it tomorrow (at the earlier time of 6!).

I wasn't offended when you said something about American grammar earlier on the daily thread - heck, I'm an editor and spend my days cursing the poor writing and communication abilities of people with numerous advanced degrees! Sometimes autocorrect is the problem but more often people dont no the write words to use and its vary irritating :smile:.

NS the thing that gets me these day's is using that feckin apostrophe on everything. Car's house's - drives me banana's

I blame texting slang ..... 'no' used as 'know' on texts because it's less letters. FFS !!
My English teacher - a VERY old nun - will turn in her grave :egad:

Morning guys. Yes the written word is so easy to misconstrue. I have learned that hard lesson a few times.

Was up and about early this morning and had a rotten nights sleep but it is Saturday and I am very grateful for that. A day to relax and gather my thoughts a bit

i have a 'friend' on facebook who ignores any context if there is a grammar mistake and corrects them on that rather than commenting on the subject. makes them look like an arse. it can be a little irritating but fgs. you can bet they have to be very careful in their posts, takes the joy(?) out of posting on there.

it can be fun to point it out though if the post is arrogant stupid flaky pretentious hyperbolic. pricks their balloon.
