Happy New Year everyone. I'm not usually on this thread but wanted to thank you all for the support that some of you have shown me in the last (almost) 5 months of sobriety.
Here's to a sober and beautiful 2016 for each and every one of us.

Hello loves. Just popping in to say Happy New Year and share the common theme here of how much I love you all.
We went to the memorial for Hubs friend last night. It was lovely and very sad. Hubs has gone from shock to anger that his friend drank himself to death. Bret had talked to him so many times about slowing down, but it never stuck.
Getting ready for the property takeover on Monday......it's going to be a hellacious few months, but I don't mind.
The memorial was in a bar and I must confess I had some beer.
YAY FENNY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so happy for you.
I love my family more than alcohol.:h

Happy New Year, my peeps! May the coming year be full of happiness and good things.

I have been running around like crazy today. First, I went to the gym, as it won't be open tomorrow. I came home and quickly showered, then ran to my old house to grab some of my moneymarket and savings stuff and started myself a new, personal checking acct. My new workplace does direct deposit, so I kind of had to scoot! After that, I went to a clinic to have my tb skin test evaluated. I got the documentation for that, so I'm almost ready for work on Monday! I skipped lunch and went to mom's and dosed up her cat on his medication and took mom mall walking.

I picked up groceries for tomorrow...turnip greens and black eyed peas! It can't hurt to do everything I can to help guarantee good luck in the coming year, lol!

Mama, that's so sad about hub's friend...and even sadder that the memorial was held in a bar.
I'll be thinking of you on Monday.

Nice to see you, briseus! Have a happy new year. : )

Nora, Pauly, Rusty, Liz, SK, Dottie, Cowboy...what will you do tomorrow?

I'm thinking of reverting back to my old traditions before I got involved with J. I am going to go to Sauk City and watch the bald eagles. It's freezing ass cold here, but I'm a Wisconsinite...I can handle it! I think it would be a great way to celebrate the new year. I wish I had a fancy camera to take really nice photos.

Fen - that sounds like a wonderful way to celebrate the new year. Please send me pics.

Mama - so very sad. Could have been any of us. I'm surprised they did hold it in a bar too. How's hubby holding up?

Dotts - good to see you. Happy new year.

Red - it's always so great to have you stop in. One word or many - you are wise & supportive and I love having you here. I heard that Cards against Humanity was really fun. I got it for my niece & husband for Christmas and they had just received the game for Christmas from their other aunt. So, I took that game and gave to my son so we will be playing that over the weekend too.

Bri - thanks for coming in. Great to have you here too. I was just heading over to the cafe to check on you and here you are. Great!

Pauly - Are you settled in for the evening? I just ordered pizza to be delivered. They have already started setting off the loud fireworks in the neighborhood. I hate that. Really loud cannons.

Liz - Have a great time in your race tomorrow. That is such a great thing that you do that together as a family. Hope that you are having a good evening.

Just realized that I better start us off with a new thread.....................see you in 2016.

It was held at the Moose Lodge, where the guys are all members. There is a huge ballroom, so it was big and had tons of food.
Hubs is ok. We had date night last night and we talked a lot about all the good things Brian did for others, and I told Bret the best way he could honor Brian was to pick up where Brian left off. Brian would take people to the doctor, help people who had issues with their kids, pay bills for people, etc.
Bret cried when I said that, but he acknowledged he could do that.
