Nora,at least you can stay up til midnight, I will stay awake for east coast time and that's it! I think last year you and I were both early birds to bed too,Fen,the news just said that strip lady had weed in her system, I call bullshit and it couldn't have been just weed unless it was spiked,of maybe the weed triggered a mental episode? I just feel sad for her baby girl moms are supposed to protect their babies not take em on a killing spree or whatever the heck she was doingI have too much shit to do today and tomorrow to drink:sohappy:
I'm taking care of the "tomorrow me"
Drinkin won't help a damn thing! Will only make me sick for DAYS and that ugly, spacey dumb feeling-no thanks!

Sad state of affairs, Bac. My son just had to get insurance and it's close to $200/mo.
I've heard that Obamacare helped some people but I don't think it helped the middle level working class."Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me.".....Carol Burnett

Happy New Year, Everyone!!
I am off to spend the day, helping my mother, then back to start getting ready for my dinner party on Saturday night. I am making beef stroganoff and I am making a chocolate raspberry creme trifle for dessert. Everyone else is bringing vegetables, appetizers, and salad. :-)
Nora-no plans for me for tonight or tomorrow, other than getting ready for this party. One of my guests is a gentleman in his 70s who is on Antabuse. We will be kindred souls. ;-) ;-)
Gotta run. Happy New Year to all my friends here!

Good morning! We will be having some friends over tonight. It was supposed to be at my sisters house but her septic is um well in need of repair. So we switched the venue. No biggie as she is bringing most of the food and my table is still extended from Christmas. I would much rather just do nothing with hubs, but whatever. We usually just eat, play games and just laugh. I have my sparkling cider in the fridge already.
We are running a 5K tomorrow morning. So glad I don't have to worry about a hangover. It's a little cold but I'm up for the challenge.
Just want to take this opportunity to thank you all for your support this past year. I can finally say I am doing better than I have in a very long time and I have you guys to thank for that! I love you all. I look forward to 2016 with you all. We ARE doing this!:heartbeat:

I agree with you 1000%. THANK YOU ALL.
I was heading for killing myself 5 months ago. I changed paths and need to continue on this path.
I sometimes feel like I had to go thru all of these other things to be at the point where I am now. I am happy, I am AF, I am taking care of my Mom, I am working, I am loving, I am living my life instead of trying to do everything I can to numb myself and curl up.
It is a long, windy path but it's a good path to be on."Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me.".....Carol Burnett

Bac - I understand about wanting to wait before spending all that money. But, remember that your health and your life is more important than money. Hang in there and stick close."Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me.".....Carol Burnett

Thanks Rusty for asking about me. I do read everyday but since it's always from my phone, it's hard to make long posts (and you all talk so much I feel like I would have to write more than Hi
So I just have to say you ALL are doing so AMAZING! Pauly, Nora, Liz I am so proud of what you have accomplished this year. Mama, I am so happy you have found a great new job but sorry about the house (although it may work out better for you in the end - you won't have to worry about home repairs as a renter and you can get a really nice place and have no worries).
Fenny, I am so proud of you. This has been a trying year for you but you kept going and fighting everyday. I just know your new job will be just the first step in a great 2016! You are a truly inspiring woman.
Pauly, I just love everything you write here and post on Facebook. Your grandson is such a cutie pie and you are an amazing mommy and gramma. Your honesty and openness is inspiring to so many people. You put your whole heart in everything thing you do. I admire you so much!
Nora, you have such a big heart and you are such a loving daughter and mother. I hope that 2016 is a happy healthy one for your family!
Liz, you are doing super duper fabulous! It has been so heart warming to see your transformation over this past year. I am so happy to see how well you are doing! I have a twin also (who does not have a drinking problem) so I always felt that connection to you. Keep it up and cheers to an even better 2016!
Rusty, friend, you have always been such a true friend to everyone here. You are like super glue, keeping everyone together and so supportive of everyone. I can't even imagine how you do it all. Your work, family, friends, travel, workouts, you are a SUPERWOMAN! I hope to be you when I grow up
As for me, I am doing great! Just started working out, and my body is definitely hurting, but it's a good hurt. I really need to continue with a better healthier lifestyle. I have prediabetes and don't want to have to get on meds. I hate new years resolutions, but I see this as a lifestyle change. I am going to be 50 in a year and a half and I want to be around and active and healthy for the second half of my life. Inside I still feel like a 25 year old, and I want to live that active lifestyle I had back then.
For those of you who are my friends on FB, you may have seen my Christmas dancing video (sorry, I have no shame in my dancing. My family gets so crazy when we get together, I just love it! I love this time of year, we have such a fun, goofy time with no drinking. We have all year to be grown ups, I love being able to make great memories (that I can actually remember). Life is too short not to have fun.
I am having a new years eve party, playing cards against humanity with my family (totally hilarious game but you definitely have to have a wicked sense of humor - it says its a game for horrible people. We played it this past weekend and I never laughed so much! My family are not big drinkers so no temptations. We will see if we can make it to midnight without falling asleep.
Weekend plans, taking down the Christmas tree. My silly cat eats the branches and throws them up -EVERYDAY. You would thing she see would learn her lesson, argh.
Hi to Sexy Gman, Dottie, Nursie (so happy to see you back), Sunshinedaises, and everyone else.
Here's to a healthier, happier, more peaceful New Year. I love all of you here!Last edited by red67; December 31, 2015, 12:07 PM.AL free since March 17th 2011...loving this life. No drinking no matter what.
