Re: ~cattleman cafe~ & another 24...

Hope you get well soon Rava! Bronchitis is no fun!
techie, it sounds as though you made the right decision regarding the house deal. 2.3 million dollars is a lot of money for a house built on a slab! Some people don't mind paying big bucks to live in a certain area, but I'm not one of them!

Asking for another 24 on this drizzly morning.

5:29am in Alberta, I'll have 24 more please, and thanks...

In the last 24 hours, these people have signed in for 24 hours of wellness:

Today is going to be a darn good day not to drink!
Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...

Get well soon Rava, hopefully you'll be feeling better in the next couple of days!

Hopefully they'll have tree movers come in and plant mature trees Quit wining, we all know how long it takes for trees to grow!

Looks like this heat wave is finally going to move out! It's supposed to start cooling off after today, but now we are in desperate need of rain!

Ya dill, I suppose I'll have to get used to not seeing them as often, but the distance would only be an excuse not to go. And from the sounds of things I'll be spending some time there after harvest as Adam wants me to help with some changes they want to make as well as install central a/c for them.

Another 24 hours please & thank you.

The forecast thunderstorms arrived late yesterday with flash flooding in some parts of the city. I wonder what our underground parking lot is like. Think I’ll check it out when I go for a walk shortly.

I’m still upset at the tree removal. In fact, I had to calm down two levels to get to livid! However, I will wait and see what the replacement plans are.

Have a great af Saturday everyone.

Just curious, Rava, did they test for covid? Around here, that would be the first thing they'd due. So glad starting the meds helped so quickly and you improve daily from here!

techie, glad you came to a decision that worked for both of you.

BigAl, keeping your wife and you in my thoughts and prayers. I hope the therapist helps and sure can't hurt!

Hazy here today from a fire that leveled the village of Lytton, BC. That area had been inhabited by the Nlaka'pamux people for over 10,000 years. Just heart breaking. I pray they can rebuild eventually.

Hope everyone has an easy day. I'll take another 24.

Good you are starting to feel better Rava. Hope you keep heading in that direction!

I did counselling when I first started on MWO at the insistence of my doctor. I asked for medical intervention and she prescribed Campral but also insisted on counselling as well. I guess since I was not in counselling by my own choice, I didn't have an open mind about it and didn't get much out of it. That was probably my fault. Another problem tho was that the counsellor was half my age and had never had experience with addiction/alcoholism, so I just didn't feel she really understood what I was going thru. Not her fault. She gave good suggestions and exercises designed to help retrain my brain so I might see things differently. But I just put in the required time and quit. I simply didn't have my heart in it at that time. It sounds like you do though, BigAl. I hope you find a good counsellor and get a lot out of it.:heartbeat:

24 more, please and thank you.

Thanks for the thoughts dill. She is a addiction specialist, but I haven't spent enough time yet to really get a good feel. One thing she did want me to do was to MAKE SURE I come here to MWO and post every day. So I am not going to miss any more days. She also wants me to try yoga. I'm open to it. We shall see. Another thing she mentioned is that part of my problem is that I cycle into such a hard spiral of regret and feelings of failure that I just set myself up. Easy to say, I see the logic, but hard to change the way you treat yourself in your own head.

But, today was a sober Saturday. Plans with the family for tomorrow; grilling out, potato salad, watermelon, etc. It should be good. 24 more for me please and thanks.

Hi BigAl. Yoga is amazing. My wife encouraged me to try it with her instructor. That was six years ago and I’m still at it. Also, please remember that self care is how you get your power back.

Happy Independence Day :sohappy: to USA members!

We're having a quiet day too, Jude. It'll be great!!

BigAl, I don't know if anyone here on MWO has ever pointed you to this very old thread called the toolkit. It is chock full of good reading. If you are going to check in every day as your counsellor suggests, it might give you something to think about and may very well help you find YOUR Independence!

24 hour of freedom please and thank you!
