I hope you enjoyed your outing in the desert and that your knee came thru without further swelling. It's so cold here this week that I really wish I could join you! I got home from my item pick up without any problems, but I was surprised by my reaction to being there in the store crowded with shoppers. I felt very anxious and although I have some things I should have shopped for while there, well, I couldn't get out of that store fast enough! Perhaps I'll try going during the week when hopefully it will be less busy.

Cowboy, cold weather months are the perfect time for the train setup. Do you ever invite friends in to see it? I bet there are folks who would love to see it! I know I would. Mr. D and I used to go to an enormous hardware store in Amish Country called Lehman's in Kidron, Ohio. One of the things we loved about that place was that there was a model train running throughout the store, suspended above our heads. It was a fantastic place to go!

Rava, how is the weather down your way? If you get to a beach anytime soon snap us a picture so we can dream....

Jude, how did Mr. J do? Will he be going out again today? It sounds to me like you folks have seen a bit of snow. Have you? We have had some flurries but the snow has not been significant and hasn't stuck.

Hello Mul, are you still in Hope?

24 more for all of us here, please and thank you.

Dill, I was thinking of Quit Wining as well and hope that he and Mrs. QW are doing OK.

Northern and western N.Y. are getting hammered with Lake effect snow. Most places are measuring the snow in feet, not inches. The Buffalo Bills are supposed to have a home game this weekend, and they are asking for help shoveling the snow off of the field and are paying $20.00 an hour. Any takers? Here at home we're only expecting 6 inches of snow so I guess that we got the better deal.

Today marks one year of sobriety for me and yesterday I picked up my one year chip from AA. Everyone clapped and I got lots of hugs. It made all of the sacrifices that I went through so worth it.

24 more for all of us please.

Be safe if you venture out, ABC. You too, Dill!

My knee is still swollen. I'm going to wrap it and head out to the desert for a couple miles. If I can't at least do that, then it's time to call an ortho doc. Jude, you're right, things could be worse!

    Hey, Rava and Mul!

    I'll take another day!

Sure hope your knee is better this morning Ginger, you might not have much choice with getting it replaced if it continues to give you problems. Sounds like your son's freezers will be filled with wild meat for the winter.

I'll bet there's lots of leftovers from your meal yesterday dill, nothing like turkey on a bun the next day or even another full plate reheated.

Hopefully Mr J gets his deer tagged filled Jude, when does hunting season end there? The season ends today in our area so it's the last opportunity for people to fill their tags. It snowed overnight and is still snowing a bit this morning. Not sure what the highways are like for Adam to drive out as I'm just waiting to hear from him if he's on his way.

Waves to Rava, have a great day y'all!

Quiet day here as well. It will be nice to rest after all yesterday's activity. I tried not to eat too much but when you make something for everyone you have to take a small serving of each dish. That makes for a full plate! We ate in the mid afternoon and I couldn't eat anymore for the rest of the day! LOL I can't help but think of Quit wining. He loved cooking and baking. I hope he and his wife are doing ok and that they had a good thanksgiving.

Perhaps I'll venture out to a store this morning. I orders a couple of thins online that are ready for pick up.

24 more for all of us here, please and thank you.

Good morning cafe! Not much happening today. I'm still trying to digest my Thanksgiving dinner as I ate way too much, but at least I didn't drink.

Ginger, hope that the swelling in your knee has gone down by now. Some days it really sucks getting older, but when you think of the alternative, it's not so bad.

    I'm in for another 24...

No black Friday madness here, either, Rava. Yes, Cowboy I am cooking up a storm! Mr. D is helping. He's put the turkey in the oven and he's getting the ingredients into the Breadmaker for rolls right now. It's smelling like Thanksgiving here today! No booze in the house.

Ginger, I wish I had some good suggestions for you, but I have nothing beyond RICE. Hope it responds quickly. That's awesome that your boys got their elk!

Good luck to Mr. J today.

24 more for all of us here, please and thank you.

ABC, two of my sons hunt together every season. They both got their elk yesterday. It was a good day but they were exhausted. They both have deer tags so they are turning around and going back out for them today. This vegetarian mom always silently roots for the game, not the boys.

We had a delicious dinner. I'm glad I took that long walk in the desert prior but my knee is twice the normal size this morning. Not painful just swollen. Any advice besides RICE, anyone?

No black Friday shopping and no ALCOHOL for me! I'll take another day of freedom

Cowboy, we had dinner with some friends and it was a good time. There was booze everywhere, and there were a couple of times that I was tempted but I just had to walk away for a bit and take a deep breath. I kept thinking that I would wake up the next day with a good dose GSR, and it worked. I hope that you and Adam can get out on the last day of hunting. Mr. J has seen a few does, but hasn't been able to get a safe shot in. He's going to go out this afternoon and try again. We shall see...

Hopefully the no water situation was resolved quickly Ginger, can't imagine being without water for Thanksgiving.

Sounds like you had an enjoyable and relaxing day Rava, I'll bet the food was great.

Enjoy your Thanksgiving today with your family dill, I'll bet you'll be cooking up a storm.

How was your Thanksgiving Jude, anything special happen? How is Mr J making out deer hunting? Adam and I are supposed to go out tomorrow for the last day of hunting season but there's more snow in the forecast for tonight and the rest of the weekend so I'm not sure if there will enough snow for us to cancel again.

Good morning Cafe. Ginger, that would freak me out only because being Thanksgiving it would mean you really need your water. Yikes. I hope it was fixed quickly! Hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving. Ours was a small gathering but very nice. I know today many will be out shopping. I will not be a part of that madness. Hope everyone has a great and sober Friday. 24 more please and thank you.
