    Today is going to be a darn good day not to drink!
    Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...
    Worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Just get through today. Tomorrow will look after itself when it becomes today, because today is all we have to think about.

      Good to hear Mr J got the furnace up and running again [MENTION=24080]Jude58[/MENTION]! And thanks for the reminder that furnace repair season is just around the corner. I'd better have a look at my stock of repair parts and get some parts ordered to have on hand...

        Another 24 hours please & thank you.

        Today we meet with a gastroenterologist to arrange for tests to be done to see why Mrs QW is losing so much weight. I hope when the tests are done we find out what we’re dealing with. We know a lot of what it isn’t. It’s been so frustrating for both of us.

        Rava, glad you’re getting settled, have internet and a place to eat. We’ve always made having a place to sleep and a place to eat the first priority of every move we’ve done. Everything else will get done eventually.

              Good morning Cafe friends and furnace starters. Sending good stuff through the ether for Mrs. QW. Life can be surprising and challenging, but always good. We need to always remind ourselves that our true nature is love. Lots going on in the Techie household today. Massages at 11am. MRI’s at 3pm. Very tough day yesterday with headaches and awful neck pain. Mrs. Techie doing a bit better. Hoping for a much better day and to deal with it in a positive way. So, with loving appreciation and gratitude I accept another twenty four hours of quality living. I wish you all the best day possible.                 Rava, so happy to see you! I wondered if your absence had to do with the move. Glad you are back online!

                Jude, I'm so glad your furnace troubles are over! We had our annual service done last week and were pleasantly surprised that no major problems surfaced. Heading into winter with a functioning furnace is a good thing.

                      Good morning Cafe. I hope you hear some news soon QW about your wife. Techie, continued healing thoughts send your way for you and your wife. Hoping today is a bit less stressful. So much to do and I have the personality that everything has to be done now. That’s not going to be the case here as we need painters and some other trades people here to update this place. So today I’m grateful for beach chairs to sit on. Hope everyone has a great day.                         We're off to the bright lights this morning to take the mil to her appointment with the eye specialist. She needs surgery to remove cataracts in both eyes. Today is her appointment for him to check her eyes and explain the surgery, then it will mean 2 trips back to have the actual cataract removals done. I imagine it will be laser surgery so it shouldn't be too bad, I guess we'll find out later this morning...

                          Another 24 hours please & thank you.

                          The meeting with the gastroenterologist went well. He put in an urgent request for Mrs QW to have an endoscopy. We were only home a few hours when we got a call saying the procedure is scheduled for next Thursday. Mrs QW is 5’10” tall and has lost 35 pounds, now weighing 125, cause for concern for sure.

                          Techie, I hope you and Mrs Techie find each day gets a bit easier, with less pain. Your positive attitude will help with the healing process!

                          Big Al, looking forward to having you back in the Cafe!!

                            Wow! QW, that is definitely a huge cause for concern. I'm glad the health care folks are taking it seriously and hoping Mrs QW gets the help/answers she needs!

                            Rava, I'm the same way! I think everything has to be done NOW! Part of the catalyst of my drinking. If you're numb, the urgency fades.

                                We are updating our second floor; patching cracks, painting, new light fixtures. We decided to clean the carpet rather than replace and that is scheduled for Wednesday. Must get the painting done before then! Lucky for me, Mr. D did painting and drywall to help pay for college all those many years ago. He's pretty handy!
