Today is going to be a darn good day not to drink!

I didn't have any problem with the time change yesterday morning, actually enjoyed that extra hour of sleep. Not so much today though, woke up an hour early so lost an hour of sleep lol. Looks like I'll also need a few more days to get used to it dill!

Great post this morning Jude58! We should all be grateful for our sober time, no matter how many days it is!

Another 24 hours please & thank you.

There really is no comparison waking up with no hangover compared to the lousy sleep that followed a night of drinking. It just wasn’t worth it being tired, irritable, trying to remember what happened the previous night, what was said. Definitely don’t miss those days!

Two more medical appointments today and then I see my doc for a long overdue physical tomorrow. It seems all we do these days is see doctors!

Techie, hope you and Mrs T are getting better each day and having less and less pain.

Big Al, hope you’re enjoying the new you!

Have a great af Monday everyone.

Re: ~cattleman cafe~ & another 24...

Good morning Cafe Friends. I'm grateful this morning. I woke up with a clear head, I have a whole list of things to do around the house, and I feel good. My FMLA was approved, so at least I have that going for me at work. I do agree abcowboy and Quit wining, whatever happens with work happens. I realized that work was a major contributor to my negativity and played perfectly into my feelings of inadequacy and failure. Neither one of those feelings were actually true, it was just my defense mechanisms working overtime to spin me up. But, the department that I moved into was not conducive to a fulfilling life. So at the very least I am going to switch departments, and if it is in the cards for me to move on to a different company then so be it. Again, there is nothing that could be worse than where I was at a few weeks ago. For so long I never said "no", and just let the wind blow me where it wanted to at work. Sometimes this worked out great, but here lately it has not. I am going to take a more curated and active approach to my future, and it will be a hard conversation to have with my boss at some point. But so be it. As QW said, I want to never work a day again because I derive joy and fulfillment from what I do. That's my goal. I am also going to take a more active role in the family farm, it has always brought me joy and is so much more honest and clean than the corporate rat race that I believed I had to participate in.

So, I'm happy, I feel good, I'm grateful to be alive and to see the sunrise this morning, and I am looking forward to another 24. I hope everyone has a wonderful Monday!

Good morning Cafe friends and supporters. Cold dark morning here but there is light in my heart. Off to Palo Alto to see my Ophthalmologist about my vision issue. We are also enjoying the new car. BTW, I’m loving the BigAl posts. I’m always moved to witness the joy one feels enjoying sobriety and realizing the limitless possibilities that lie ahead.

So, it is with undying gratitude that I accept another twenty four. I wish you all the best day possible. If your day started off poorly, flip it around because only you can. Blessings x

Good morning Cafe. Big Al, its been great reading your posts and I love all your positivity. You are like a different person. So happy that you are feeling better. Thanks for yesterdays breakfast Cowboy. This is the first time I have had time to post. Very busy weekend. We made our flight but getting up in the middle of the night for two days in a row is exhausting. We are now here for another week visiting family before heading south. Hope everyone has a great day. Another 24 for me please and thank you.

BigAl, what a difference your recent posts have been, compared to those from a few weeks ago. Glad to see that you are now full of hope and gratitude. I think that it's a great idea to spend more time at the family farm, and less time dealing with corporate BS!

Hope that all goes well with your doctors appointment Quit wining! Caregivers often neglect their own health, and it's so important that you stay well so that you can be there for Mrs. QW.
dill, I too, an struggling with the time change. It's kind of depressing when it's dark at 5:00 pm, but I guess that's just the way it is.

Another 24 please and thank you!

Re: ~cattleman cafe~ & another 24...

The time change is really dogging me! I have been developing a pattern of waking up earlier and earlier and the time change has exascerbated that. Now I wake up at 3 am which used to be 4 am and I have to try to go back to sleep but I never manage that. I usually end up just staying in bed and "dozing" until 5 am. I makes me get really tired in the late afternoon and I fall asleep early in the evening. It's going to take the whole week to work this change out! On he bright side, I really enjoy waking up in the wee hours without the guilt of having wasted the evening with drinking. Always a good moment when I realize the sleep disturbance isn't al-related!

Wishing the best of health and wellness to all of us as well as another 24! :heartbeat:

Dont forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!

If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.

Good morning Cafe Friends. Cleaning house today, and I have a loooong list of honey-do's to accomplish. I am going to go on a long walk this morning and I picked up a weight bench off of Craigslist yesterday. My son is excited to get buff, and I am looking forward to getting healthy. This afternoon I have my first appointment with a new therapist. I am more discerning after my time in rehab, they had excellent counselors there; every single one of them was in long term recovery and KNEW what the score was. I hope everyone has a wonderful Tuesday! Another 24 for me please and thanks.

Good morning Cafe friends and the time change challenged. I have an appointment with neurologist this morning so hopefully a treatment plan will arise. It is a cool rainy fall day here and I am loving it. I have been chatting with a renowned Spartan race friend who has had lots of challenges. We agreed to meet up in San Diego and I will escort her over the border to a clinic that is doing stem cell injections for athletes. This is the same clinic I went to for weeks at a time when I was a cancer patient. So, I now the place and staff well. The facility is world class. Our plan is for first week of 2022, if the pandemic is status quo.

So it is with a tremendous sense of gratitude that I accept another XXIV. I wish you all the best day possible. Blessings x

Just home after seeing my doc for a physical. I was so pleased with how it went that I stopped and bought green bananas on the way home and will start a new book this afternoon!

Big Al, sounds like you like the new you! I bet those close to you do as well. Keep up the great work!!

Techie, hope your appointment with the neurologist goes/went well. Having a recovery plan in place will be great. What kind of car did you buy? Just curious.

Have a great af Tuesday everyone.
