Walking in a winter wonderland!! Yesterday was a nice November day, this morning there is 4" of snow on the ground and still snowing. Combined with the high wind, I would say our winter has started with a vengeance! Adam was supposed to come out this morning to go hunting, haven't heard from him yet to see if he's still coming.

I had an '84 Bronco back in the day, there wasn't much that truck wouldn't claw it's way through!

They had to take Bubba's dad into the hospital on Sunday, he wasn't able to keep any food down and they were concerned about the color of his vomit. Turns out there is some sort of obstruction in his bowels, or a twisted bowel. We drove to Vermilion to see him once he got admitted and then I stopped in yesterday to see him. He seems in good spirits and says he doesn't have any pain. What they tried didn't seem to fix anything much as he only passed one small stool and turned out there was blood in it, so they are sending him to Camrose now to have a CT scan. I'll keep y'all updated as we learn more...

Worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Just get through today. Tomorrow will look after itself when it becomes today, because today is all we have to think about.

Another 24 hours please & thank you.

Cowboy, hope your father in law receives good medical care and is able to return to his home. He’s had a lot to deal with.

My in-laws had a Bronco in the mid-eighties. After driving it off road a few times, I named it the Beast. It could, and did, go anywhere.

Strong winds here overnight and in store for much of today but no snow so far. To the west, British Columbia is experiencing some nasty weather. My brother lives in the Fraser Valley, about 2 hours east of Vancouver. In the last 2 days they’ve had 8 inches of rain! Roads are closed, some have been washed out, and mud slides have closed many area highways. Cleaning up when the storm finally ends will take a long time.

Have a great af Tuesday everyone.

Good morning Cafe friends and Ford Bronco lovers. Off to appointments this morning. Telemedicine meeting with doctors tomorrow to hear about MRI & CT scan results and next steps. Personally, I feel really good this morning. So, with deep appreciation for the healing process and my body, I accept another twenty four. I wish you all the best day possible. Blessings x

Cowboy, I hope your FIL gets whatever help he needs and is on the mend soon.

Techie wishing you well and hoping for good news for you.

I too had a CT scan just this morning. It was ordered by the cardiologist for our upcoming appointment. It's one of the easiest tests to undergo!

We had a few days of wintery weather but today we are getting loads of sunshine. I'm not really looking forward to the winter, but it does give me an appreciation for the spring, summer and fall!

24 more please and thank you.

Good evening Cafe Friends. The pic is of my '78 Bronco with my Great Dane and my son (the top is off). It's a blast to drive around out in the country (the picture was taken out at the farm). Great day today. I continued my deep clean of the house, I put some biltong in my curing box, I saw my therapist, and spent some time talking with the boy after I picked him up from school. I am now watching some "true crime" documentary with my wife and daughter (well, I am actually just barely paying any attention at all, I am just not a TV watcher). It seems to be a slow start with the new therapist, I feel like I'm about three steps ahead of her but don't want to arbitrarily redirect her because maybe I'm missing something. I don't think I am, but am trying to keep an open mind in all aspects of my path forward.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Tuesday and am looking forward to enjoying another 24 hours of sobriety. I am meeting and old friend for lunch tomorrow that was our neighbor when we lived in Africa.

Nice car techie! Hope that you get good news about your recent tests.

That's too bad about your FIL cowboy. Hopefully they can find out what's wrong and resolve it quickly.

We had a couple of inches of snow yesterday, and now the weather guys are talking about the possibility of a big storm early next week. We shall see...

I'm in for another 24 please and thank you!

We are going to have temperatures in the UPPER 60's F. :welldone: It's a short reprieve and then back down we go into the much cooler regions.

Gratefully woke this morning hangover free. Always the best gift to give one's self, IMHO. Start the day off right!!

Hope everyone has another 24 hours of freedom!

Well, it wasn't good news at all yesterday. There is nothing they can do for Bubba's dad short of surgery and they won't perform any surgeries on him because of his age (87) and existing health problems. It sounds to me like it's either a twisted bowel or some sort of growth in the bowel that's blocking things. They weren't able to get the bowel functioning or to stop the internal bleeding, so they are just going to treat him with intravenous antibiotics to ward off infection and he'll remain on an intravenous liquid diet. They didn't end up taking him to Camrose because of the blizzard and road conditions and the specialist didn't figure the ct scan would show anything that they didn't know was probably there. About the only good news was that they are moving him back to Vegreville to a palliative care bed so that he's closer to us for what time he has left.

Sorry the news wasn’t better about your father in law Cowboy. I hope the family gets to spend lots of time with him.

Good morning Cafe friends and struggling families. Light and prayer on the way for your FIL, Cowboy. Medical appointments today. I will find out about next steps. Overcast chilly morning here in The Sierras. Winter is on its way. BTW, the SUV I bought was the only one in the showroom and lot. There is a critical shortage of cars nationwide. Life has sure changed in the past two years. So, with deep gratitude I accept another twenty four. I wish you all the best day possible. Blessings x

Late check in Cafe. Hello. Our days are getting a little screwed up as we have a lot going on in our condo. We are having the plumbing replaced and they have been here every day since Monday with no water except in the evenings. Tonight we only have use of our bathroom sink and shower. Tomorrow the job will be finished! Cowboy, I’m sorry about your FIL. I hope they can keep him comfortable in the days to come. Techie, Those ramen noodles dont sound so bad. I actually went out to eat the other day at a restaurant that served a Pho with ramen. It was delicious! LOL you can get creative. Hope everyone is having a good day. Another 24 for me please and thank you.

Good evening Cafe Friends. abcowboy, I'm sorry to hear about your father-in-law, that's difficult news. You and yours will be in my thoughts. Very nice beemer techie, I have noticed that the dealerships are definitely lacking inventory in my neck of the woods. Had a nice visit with my old friend today, we met up a a halfway point and had some BBQ for lunch. It had been probably six or seven years since we had met up last. Things are pretty tame around here, just staying busy and strategizing about work which I will start next week.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Wednesday, and I am looking forward to another 24 please and thanks.
