Re: ~cattleman cafe~ & another 24...

I'm glad your first time at an AA meeting was a good experience for you @Jude58.
AA definitely wasn't/isn't for me, but I've always been of the opinion that if it's beneficial for others all the power to them!

Finally get a stretch of warm sunny spring like weather out here on the coast... just in time for me to get sick again (though still nice to get out in the sun, and everything is now in bloom and leaves coming on the trees too). This is the very definition of Murhpy's Law.

Re: ~cattleman cafe~ & another 24...

I went to another AA meeting yesterday, and there was actually another woman there. I talked with her after the meeting and she was great! She answered a lot of questions for me and gave me her number in case I needed to talk. I know that AA isn't for everyone, and I never thought that I'd be caught dead going to a meeting, but yesterday I came away with a feeling of strength and peace.

So far I haven't had any problems logging in; hopefully it will stay that way.

With gratitude, looking forward to another 24 hours.

Hope you're not sick for too long Mulburry. I'm of the same opinion as you, even if AA wasn't for me, it has and will help lots of people.

Sounds like you're doing what needs to be done for you Jude58!

I was having issues logging in too. I only use my phone to post. I deleted my link on my home page and added a new one and that fixed the issue.

Love the quote, Techie. Good for you, Jude!

Off to golf with an old high-school friend at noon. Beautiful day here! I'll take another one.

Feeling positive this morning, even if it's pouring rain outside. Grateful for a dry roof over my head. I do believe that gratitude can go a long way in helping us to maintain sobriety.

Not today...

Jude, your post reminded me of that quote about 'into every life a little rain must fall" and I got curious to whom it was attributed. It turns out it is based on a poem by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, titled "The Rainy Day". Here's the poem and the story behind it: Longfellow's 'The Rainy Day'

Behind those rain clouds the sun still shines.

24 more for all of us here, please and thank you.

Agreed Jude58, gratitude is a key ingredient for our sobriety.

And I'll add to the rain theme, "you can't have a rainbow without having rain"

Even though I'n not having any issues with logging in using Microsoft Edge, I sent a message to Zach letting him know that some of us are having issues.

Good morning Cafe. Beautiful day here in sunny Florida. Many of my friends have left to head north. I’ve got to get adjusted to their absence. I know to keep busy and have a plan. Don’t want to fall into a slump. So today I will do stuff to keep my brain busy. 24 more please and thank you!

Golf was great. I've spent no time with my high school friend since the 70s. She shared she was 25 years sober and she'd started back to AA since losing her husband last April. She needed the comradery and friendship. I have an added tool in my toolbox in her. We will golf again soon!

I'll take another!
