Re: ~cattleman cafe~ & another 24...

Cowboy, hope that your doctors appointment went well yesterday. Hopefully it's nothing serious.
Mulburry, I hear you about romanticizing the drink. Sometimes I miss that feeling of well-being after having a few glasses of wine. Why is it that we always seem to forget the afterwards, like the hangovers? Stay strong!

Today we are going to a place called the Windmill, which is a huge event with vendors selling all kinds of goodies. Many of the Amish and Mennonites are always there, selling anything from homemade baked goods to handmade furniture. The weather is going to be beautiful, and we are looking forward to it.

So I'll gratefully take another 24 hours.

The Windmill event sounds like a great way to spend a beautiful day, Jude. I wonder if there will be any Amish baked goods. Mmmm

Rava, did the closing on your new place go OK yesterday?

24 more for all of us here, please and thank you.
Dill

Sounds like it's going to be a fun day Jude58, I'd probably be going home with a truckload of baked goods lol.

Summertime seems a bit tougher being AF Mulburry. Seeing everyone in their backyards enjoying a nice cold beer isn't easy, but I also use it as a reminder that I can't stop at 1 or 2.

Dr's appointment went not too bad. He couldn't find anything seriously wrong with my throat, everything looked fine to him except for some slight irritation. Got some medicated cough syrup and a different kind of mouthwash to use for a month to see if that helps. If not, then it's off to a specialist for more tests. When I got home Bubba and I were talking about it and discovered that my throat issue started around the same time I gave up smoking and started chewing the Nicorette's, so I'm going to cut back then cut out the Nicorette's as well. That was something I failed to mention to the Dr, so we'll see how it goes.

Ah ha, ABC! I bet that's it! My sister had the same issue. She was chewing it too often. She started chewing regular gum in between and that really helped. She thought just the act of chewing helped her craving. Hope that's it!

Jude, that sounds like a lovely day. I'd so enjoy that outing.

Mul, almost 2 years! That's awesome.

Rava, I'm so glad you are settled in your new place. Now you'll have a reliable place to stay on your family visits up north. I bet that's a load off!

Leaving tomorrow for the coast! It will be a lovely break from all this heat! I'll take another day

Thank you all so much !
Celebrated my 8 years with loved ones and lots of food and treats ! Which honestly was super nice.
do, however, feel emotional today. I think it’s a subconscious thing ? I mean, it isn’t getting harder, but perhaps i need to do a little more inner work.
I appreciate each and every one of you.
And I hope that those who are struggling, know that quitting and staying quit can be done!
I even sometimes read some of my old posts on here. But of a rollercoaster of im being honest. Anyways, enough rambling from me.

Here’s to another 24.
And thank you again, so much !!

Hopefully it's nothing serious. I have a sore throat in the night a lot but it's due chronic sinusitis (and if you don't have other symptoms it's probably not that). Also, I did notice when I used nicrorette mints, they often made me cough, but only the mint versions seemed to irritate my throat.

Briseus, thanks for sharing your 8 year mark with us and for your thoughts about your journey as well.

Techie, I particularly liked the quote yesterday. Thank you, as always.

Rava, I'm so pleased for you getting all settled and setting yourselves up for a future of nearly carefree second home ownership!

Interesting about the nicorette. I hadn't heard of that being a possible side effect, but I really don't know anyone uses nicorette. Let us know Cowboy, if Bubba has come up with the cure!

24 more for all of us here, please and thank you.

Thanks for your inspiring words briseus, it's always great to have you stop in!

Funny you should mention it Mulburry, but I do have problems with my nose and sinuses as well. He gave me a prescription for a nasal spray but he didn't mention that my throat issues could be connected to that. And I am chewing the mint flavored Nicorette's. Hopefully all my issues will be resolved with the nasal spray and giving up the gum.

I did cut back on the gum yesterday Ginger999 and just used a regular gum instead, didn't seem to bother me at all so I'll go with that till the Nicorette's are gone and then just stick to regular chewing gum for any cravings that I might experience.
