p.s. AB, I also appreciate so much the daily quote and can imagine it takes a lot of time searching.. as WF said, I wouldn't worrying about offending as they are affirmations. I've never seen one you've posted that could be taken the wrong way.. I was thinking, if you really get tired of it, you could give a couple days a week over to other people.. or have someone jump in and substitute for a week. I wouldn't mind at all.. just let us know! Yesterday I started a "daily Gratitudes" book and I'm including the Café quote each day. Thank you.. but no pressure, as well!:happy2:

Re: ~cattleman cafe~ & another 24...
Another 24 off cigs. Ate 2 full size chicken casseroles spaced for tea with rice. Stuck on crackers with cheese this arvo and not real healthy. Stocking up on healthy easy to eat foods like grapes, yoghurt bananas etc. Watching weight and hrs slept over night. Changed sheets and flipped bed base. Get rid of AL Cig smells. Full shower and shave and feel good. A little hairy in afternoon but made it, so here's to another 24
Wildflowers. Just stock up on good foods and do it cold turkey. 1 Day you will notice the difference. I also like to keep aware of how I feel and that night of cig relapse ,I could feel how unhealthy I felt so just dropped them again .You will also get headaches and confusion on quit too but do 1 day and the next morning you breathe great and it would be the quickest thing you could do in the smallest timeframe to feel better about yourself
AB's egg creation looks fantastic . I'm still farting from the egg chicken casserole from tea :happy2:Last edited by Neo; August 28, 2017, 07:34 AM.

6:40am in Alberta, I'll have another 24 please, and thanks..
In the past 24 hours, these people have signed in for 24 hours of sobriety:

Pauly, I have to tell you that I look forward to you being here in the morning before I get here. When I log in and don't see your post, I worry, maybe sometimes needlessly, but I still worry. To me you've all become a second family and I worry when I don't see someone posting somewhere on the forum. And thank you all for your words, to be honest, I think I'd feel out of place not posting a daily quote, but I'm thinking about lifechange's idea of a weekly rotation?
A new week is upon us, but let's just think about today eh! Thanks for being my friends!Last edited by abcowboy; August 28, 2017, 07:39 AM.Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...
Worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Just get through today. Tomorrow will look after itself when it becomes today, because today is all we have to think about.

Re: ~cattleman cafe~ & another 24...
A cool morning but, rain coming. Praying for Houston.
Didn't get to check in yesterday, no internet early, and travel.
Stayed at MIL's and ate too much bad food, way too much sugar, fat and sodium. Hard to contain myself when I'm there, it surrounds me. Glad the was no booze about, lol.
Funeral was good, Thank you all for your kind words. Saw quite a few people I started my career with nearly 40 years ago. Some I had not seen in at least 25 years.
Had lunch with a group, and told many funny stories of our old friend, the best way to remember someone. Turns out out he had cirrhosis of the liver, everyone made a point of saying it was non-alcoholic. He did drink, but I have no idea how much. He went in for a hip replacement, and never came back, the liver made things worse. He was still fairly young, 73.
24 for all of us please, It's Monday, and a brand new week.

Re: ~cattleman cafe~ & another 24...
A sunny start to the week here in Jersey at 9:40 in the morning and the people I share my office space with are off somewhere else. Committing to another 24.
Mr Vervill sorry to hear about you mentor.
Was up at Albany yesterday see brother (MB) and SIL. Their kids were there with my mom, my dad and his wife came up as well as my youngest brother (YB). Was going to go up on Saturday so that we weren't all there at once but MB went home for the day and SIL's parents spent the time with her. I could tell at one point MB just wanted everyone to go.
SIL doing better, responding well though still trouble with directions. (Thought MB quipped she always has has trouble with that. lol) No tubes. No verbal yet but one can read her facial cues pretty clearly. Looks like she's understanding anyway. My damn vagus nerve was acting up vagus nerve was acting up so not quite as present as I wanted to be. Another round of 24 for me and my friends, please!
Oh, and I too would be willing to take a week finding quotes if that would help you abcowboy. Don't think I have quite the knack you do, but I'd do my level best!Dill

Re: ~cattleman cafe~ & another 24...
Please, really want and need 24 AF hours. Thank you. Going to be too hot next couple of days. I miss the rain and cool weather.
Mr Vervill - Glad you were able to remember your friend with some laughter. Losing friends and family is very hard! Thankful your back here committing to a healthy life. Hope your week go's smooth.
Orimus - Thankful you have some good news about SIL. Think your MB probably just needs a little quiet time. Sure he appreciates your support. Know what you mean about that vagus vein. I keep trying to exercise mine. Movement and singing seem to help and plenty of deep breaths. May your week be filled with hope.
Neo - Thank you for taking the time to help. Your support means so much!. Waiting to hear back from program coach. I beat myself up good when I caved. Need to nurture my inner child. Wishing you continued success!
abcowboy - Really do hope you and your wife can get away for some down time soon. Maybe a small vacation from MWO would help. Life should be mixed with some fun too. We would keep your throne warm.
Hope everyone has a decent/good week. Many prayers for Texas.

Re: ~cattleman cafe~ & another 24...
Not sure where I posted it but it was advice and my check ins, too many forums. RAAM (Rapid not so much Access to Addictive Medications) appointment was today with the specialist. Prescribed Gabapentin, opinions or wrong thread/forum?
Need to find a forum/thread about Gabapentin. It was that or T-G. Its small dose by comparion, looks like 150 mg then upping to 300 mg. I am using a plethora of other meds, so sedation isn't an issue. I can put myself to sleep in 15 minutes. Just curious anyone who has tried gabapentin. Using hundreds of dollars in drugs, have $1000 in naltrexone and $800 in campral in my stock. He noted I stopped Trintellix and he said it was a good match for mirtazapine in his studies, so in the next 2 months some things might change. Doctor approved Gabapentin despite all the other drugs I have. I guess honesty is the best way to work with you doc. Really if you want to get better. I am not suicidal so I keep logs of just what these things do and the emotional/social experiences I woke up with and lived with during the day. At least the specialist says I look much better than last time in June, but I don't feel better.
Hope everyone has a good dayLast edited by empyr3al; August 28, 2017, 07:40 PM."Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid." - Albert Einstein

Re: ~cattleman cafe~ & another 24...
empyr3al, I take 300mg of gabapentin every night. It was prescribed for nerve pain in my case. Nerve pain caused by degenerative discs. I have not side effects with it that I have detected. I take it in the evening and it seems to help me sleep well. However, I take very few medications, just cholesteral and blood pressure meds. I don't know how it would work for you. If your doc prescribes is with full knowledge of what you are currently taking, then I guess it's good to follow doctor's recommendations. 300mg is a pretty mild dose. However if you go beyond that, it is one of those drugs that you cannot go off without tapering. I do hope you start to feel better!!
Wildflowers, saw on the gratitude thread that you have trouble with dry eyes. So do I! So annoying. I have to use drops. I find Soothe to work really well for me. What do you use?
I need 24 more, please. Thank you.Dill

Re: ~cattleman cafe~ & another 24...
That's so funny about the old people paulywogg, a few years ago we were walking up to Mrs V's high school reunion, and she said, "This can't be it, these are just a bunch of old people" lol. It's funny how we think of ourselves as youthful, at least I feel that way most of the time! I like that, and I'm going to keep it that way! Lol, get that mirror away from me!
Wishing your family the best Ory!
Cool and rainy here today.
Lots of work today, too.
I'll take 24 please.
