Re: ~cattleman cafe~ & another 24...

Continuing on this 24 hour sober path. Please and thank you!.... Very hazy here. Another large wildfire in Columbia Gorge. Thankful, over a 100 young hikers rescued. The west coast is under siege. We need rain and others need sun. Crazy-crazy weather. So much to pray for.

abcowboy - Yes, I figured it out. Lol.... Brain was out of order. Suffer from CRSS. Hubs came up with latter. Don't ask.

dill - Agree that inaction may also be an action. I usually read Today's Thought. This has been a topic. Nice quote.

Neo - Persevering is a form of positivity. Very glad your here and staying the course. Your diet is once again "Yumbo". Continuing to improve here. Appreciate your shares. Baby steps for me. Tried millet with peanut butter, honey and pumpkin seed, granola. Some people don't eat grains. Lots of reasons why. Millet is an ancient seed. Believe whole grain is good for the colon. If not allergic. Called the quit smoke help line today and my eligibility hasn't been confirmed. Been almost two wks. Hopefully, by end of week.

Orimus - Have your link opened on other tab. Yoga and meditation. Will take a look in a bit. Thank you.. Hows your SIL doing?

empyr3al - Your sounding good. Tho, hope you sleep better. Agree that many Dr's don't stay current with medical literature. Ours for a long time wasn't open to newer treatments. Until, he became a patient who almost died. When he retires, plan on finding one who's mid aged. Hoping for the best of both worlds. I try to remember that their people too. I think I expect higher standards. Sometimes good and not so good. My Dr is more willing to RX and order tests, if I do my part. With the Internet some Dr's prefer us being our own advocates. Then there are ones whose ego's are to huge. Don't care to listen to anything you have to say. Let alone there are shortages of Dr's as well. I feel fortunate at this time to not be on an HMO. I saw what happened to my Mom.

Hope everyone has a decent AF day. If your not AF, keep coming back. Most of us know how hard this is. For some it's harder than others. I fall into the latter group. Thankful, for MWO. The support, encouragement and tools are priceless. We can do this together one day at a time.

Re: ~cattleman cafe~ & another 24...

abcowboy, what is CRSS. I'll google it.

dill, I've heard that before and I forgot about it. Thank you for reminding me. What I get from it is that an action (or inaction) is a conscious decision.

Wildflowers, I am constantly watching for doctors accepting new patients (either means they are new, or they suck). I watch for friends. Having trouble finding a female doctor for a female friend. My ex wifes dr's appointments were sometimes 2 months apart! Mine I can see nearly in a day or two, sometimes even on a sunday. The specialist is more like a month if I keep it up and he doesn't close the file or I miss an appointment. There is a definite shortage of quality doctors and I persisted hard out of shear desperation to find someone that matches. Its funny my doctor is maybe a decade younger than me but we joke around. We talk about his injuries like a broken wrist and how they happen, so its more friendship. He is open to how I use the internet to consult and is quite impressed with some of the software and sites I use. Pro tip - Medisafe app. You can customize it like crazy including it delaying dose notifications on weekends (and you can set which days that weekend or day off is) so that it won't wake you early. By far the best app I have ever used (its free, but american, so some of the drugs are named differently - google). I'm in the beta group so we recommend features and its quite impressive what they have come up with. If my GP pays for the software he can actually monitor my usage and quantities and refill reminders and chart everything. It has video advice for every med you add. I kind of hack it so I added specific vitamins and even smokes. You can set inactive meds, ones you take as needed instead of scheduled, medical history. It gives you weekly reports. Incredible software. Okay enough of the product promo lol. I'm just impressed. Sometimes it takes a shock to the system like with your doctor to change perspective. Much like if you get in a fall off your bike because you are drunk or say something stupid or blow your money away to shock you. In his case death and new treatments. Glad you have an open doctor. My specialist has a bit of an ego... well last time I was explaining why the med worked so I could illustrate to him I was educated and he retorted "I know this already, don't insult me". Miscommunication on my part as I often over explain so he knows that I understand. He is quick because he is bloody under so much demand its crazy.

I know you're not from BC, but as an example of things out of control because the system is broken. I can't imagine whats going on in BC with the fentanyl crisis. I can't recall the number but its in the order of 45 OD's a day. In a sick way I hear people say "Its a way to cull the bad people from society". That mentality is crazy. People are picking up needles all over in teams on bikes. In one hospital an entire floor is dedicated to OD' patients. Users are picking up used needles with small amounts still left in them and injecting them so AIDS, Hep C epidemic. There are medics on bicycles with nalaxone? (its an antidote). Watched an interesting documentary on it on CTV I think yesterday. The problem with BC in comparison to ON is that we have rehabs like crazy and funded. BC is just managing it and not solving it. Politics, I'll keep that down. One girl in one of my expensive rehabs was flown to Ontario for rehab because they don't have the facilities. Cost was in the order of 70,000$. Now Ontario has its fentanyl crisis to, I lose friends or aquintance monthly but its not nearly as bad.

Hoping the sleep gets better its almost 3, see if i can't knock myself out with Gaba and Mirt so I can get back to normal. Insomnia is a direct result of alcohol abuse.

Washed my pup today, amazing, didn't freak out, let me brush her. First dog I've had that doesn't freak out in a bath.

24 for me, and 24 more

Dont forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!

If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.

I know you used to be on SR Pauly, and I often think of Toots signature line "even though we may take different paths, we're all on the same journey" and it confirms that we are all in this together!

I think it was Wildflowers who mentioned CRSS Empyr, I suffer from it from time to time as well lol.

Crotchety dill?? I could never think of you like that, but it did give me a chuckle this morning!
Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...
Worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Just get through today. Tomorrow will look after itself when it becomes today, because today is all we have to think about.
Friendship is not about how many friends you have or who you've known the longest. It's about who walked into your life, said "I'm here for you", and proved it.
