Oh my! I forgot to check in. Seems my life is sooo crazy right now but sooo great and grateful for all the stuff going on.

It appears I may be headed for a new joint in my thumb but can't get into the ortho dr until June. In the meantime, I've found a small joint brace that is working wonderfully, if I wear it all the time so I am.

Waves to all my friends! I'll take another day of freedom

It's crazy how long you have to wait to be seen by a doctor lately. It's kind of scary where the medical field is going these days, and to me it seems as though doctors have incredibly busy schedules, and that compassion is going the way of the dinosaurs. Kinda sad really...

Mr. J has a 1999 Ford F 350 and it's a beast to drive. Thankfully, I don't have to use it that often!

      24 more please...

5:20am in Alberta, I'll have 24 more please, and thanks...

In the last 24 hours, these friends have joined in for 24 hours of wellness:
        Jude58 dill Rava Slo Ginger999

Today is going to be a darn good day not to drink!
Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...

Mr J's truck is a classic Jude, I'd love to have a truck like that!. Funny how we get so used to the vehicles we normally drive, I know when I drive Bubba's Flex it seems like my butt is almost touching the pavement lol.

Have you had problems with your thumb all along Ginger, or is this something new that's cropped up?

I can't imagine spending 3 hours on the phone with anyone Slo, but then I've never been much of a phone person. Glad you got to spend that time with him though.

I bet it was pretty cool watching the dolphins Rava, too bad there was no crabs to catch though.

Good morning Cafe. I agree about how long it takes to see a doctor. It’s almost like you just need to treat yourself. Took me 3 months to see a hand doctor for my knuckle. Their office doesn't even have reminder calls or anything. So if you miss an appt you are out of luck! Too many old people in Florida so seeing a doc in a timely fashion is nearly impossible. Hope everyone has a sober and healthy day. 24 more please and thank you.

Yes, Cowboy, we are a two car couple. The Edge is a 2013 and the RAV4 is a 2021. The truck is an F250 we bought some time in the 90's and it is mostly just used here on the farm. It's such a gas hog we drive it as little as possible. We primarily drive the RAV because our trips back and forth to town fit easily withing its 40 miles of electric.

It's sad how hard it is to see a doctor these days, Jude. My doctor is in high demand, so she has had to hire a PA to take some of her regular patient's wellness appointments. So, I can see her only once a year and that's only if I'm lucky. This coming May, I had a scheduled appointment but was just informed yesterday that she had to cancel and I have to see the PA. I'm sure it will be fine, but I like my doctor and have a high level of trust in her. Hopefully I'll see her next time around...

Slo, I am amazed you could talk for 3 hours on the phone! I don't enjoy talking on the phone. It's great that you and your Uncle had such a good long conversation.

              Hi Rava and Ginger!

24 more hours please and thank you.

Oh, I can’t talk for 3 hours on the phone -he can! Some people have the gift of gab, which I love; but I’m not one of them. My uncle (69 almost years old) fell into alcoholism too. His mother was actively rejecting him when he was a teen and I was a child. I heard lots of gossip about how terrible he was (not true -he was just being scapegoated). But, right after his mother / my grandma died in 2011, then he went cold turkey on alcohol and quit for good! And, a year ago, he went cold turkey on cigarettes (in conjunction with cardiac surgery), and is smoke-free now too!

I went out to see my niece play high school soccer last evening with my sister & her friend. Unfortunately the weather turned, and it was back to freezing & damp & windy out.

Today I babysit Huxley for 8 hours. That is a long time for me to be able to handle a 2 y/o boy.

I am miserable and scared and lonely; fearful of the future, and missing my home so much and sad about my divorce and feeling adrift , lost, and terrified.
I never got over it, and just can’t seem to move on. It’s been three years.
This B6 toxicity recovery does cause a chemical terror, anxiety, loneliness etc., and boy do I feel it. I just…don’t want to go on. I will probably have to go back on the full dose of antidepressant to try to cope.
Just, feel like I messed up my whole life, and my body.
I am so glad that you all have partners and a nice home that you share with your partner.

Need to put one foot in front of the other and keep going. 24 more hours today please.

Slo, I'm so sorry that you are having feelings of hopelessness and loss. Are you seeing a therapist at all? I've found that when I focus on past, the present becomes an unhappy place to be. Being grateful is a wonderful tool to have when battling addiction and depression and I use it often.

Rava, I know what you mean about the abundance of old people in Florida. I once heard someone say that Florida is God's waiting room. I couldn't believe how many fancy Dr.'s offices there are down there. There were a lot of dermatologists, dentists, plastic surgeons, veterinarians and dog groomers. (Gotta keep those little poofy dogs looking sharp.) I only saw one funeral home on the main drag, so I guess that most of them are discreetly hidden. Don't need any reminders of eternal rest among the elderly.

Who wants to join me in another 24 hours of freedom?

I will gladly join you in another 24 hours of freedom, Jude!

Slo, I am sorry you are struggling so with the losses you have endured in the past. I can surely understand how you are feeling. Like Jude, I am wondering if you have ever tried therapy. Maybe you could ask your doc for a referral instead of/in addition to the increased medication.

Mr. D's back went out a few days ago and it is a reality check for me. In the winter if your back goes out there's a little latitude. Nothing growing outside, no mowing, etc. But in this spring and summer there is so much to be done. Mr. D has been working on the fencing. I've been helping but I'm really not much help. I don't know, but I think he has been doing too much and that triggered this bout with his back. There's a lot to living out here on the farm and I am wondering how much longer we can manage it.

24 more for all of us here, please and thank you.
