A chilly 28 F and I'm hugging my hot coffee and looking out the window at the light snowfall outside. Could well imagine much of upstate NY is pretty buried as a lot of lake effect up there. I know my brother generally has feet while we only have bare inches.
10:30 here at the bunker and not much going on as they've got everything pretty much on maintenance only through the holiday season. I live about 40 miles south west of Syracuse, which is the snowiest major city in the entire U.S. We receive about 126 inches of snow a year. There are 3 different types of storms that give us most of our precipitation. This time of year we are dealing with Lake Effect snow coming off of Lake Ontario and Erie. The folks who get hit hardest are those that live just north of Syracuse...it's brutal up there! We also have the good old Nor'easter, and Alberta Clippers just to add to the fun! Good thing that I like to snowshoe!Comment

Aahhhh, lake effect snow. Jude, I used to live in Brighton, Ontario, across Lake Ontario from Rochester. I well remember lake effect snow and not fondly!
Now that I’m an Albertan, not only do I not miss lake effect snow but find Alberta Clippers to be somewhat funny, especially because we don’t get them!
Indeed it’s good that you like to snowshoe!

11:15 here in the bunker on a dim and gloomy day. Guess I was wrong about everything being on maintenance only leading to things being slow. Getting not so subtle nudges to line up projects for early January. Ehhh.... it'll get done though the urge to get incensed and agitated is certainly there. No need to let their emergencies be mine.
