I'm not a big fan of the time change either, but don't have much choice. If I didn't set the clocks back one hour tonight I'd stay on the same time as Saskatchewan, but would be different from everyone else in Alberta lol.

Good morning Cafe. Jude I think many of us old timers used pillow cases for our candy. Things today are so complicated and different. Parents trying to one up each other and provide the most expensive stuff for their kids. Everyone has a water bottle just to walk down the street. Our simple lives were good ones in my memory. Hope everyone has a great day. I am heading to a Farmers Market with a friend who has a drinking past similar to mine. We can talk about it and support each other. I am not looking forward to the time change. Messes me up and I dont like the darker evenings. Wishing everyone a safe and sober day. 24 more please and thank you.

Ha, ha, Mul, I can almost picture you shaking your fist and yelling, "Get off my lawn!"

Jude I look forward to an extra hour of clarity and peace of mind. Thanks for the reminder. I too hat the time change nonsense, but at least we can celebrate tonight's 'extra hour' of sobriety.

Another day for all of us here, please and thank you.

Happy Saturday cafe! Tonight we set our clocks back one hour for daylight savings. Wish that they'd do away with it as it always messes me up for a couple of days. I used to think, oh boy, I get an extra hour of drinking in but now I have better things to do with that extra hour.

    24 more please...

Our oldest daughter sent us some pics of some of the houses with their Halloween decorations Mulburry, and you're right, some people really go all out.
In the last couple of days I've seen both a giant 6 foot tall skeleton and a grim reaper, amongst all kinds of other very intricate displays. I didn't take any pictures though, I just feel weird taking pictures of other people's private residences.

Lots of good Halloween memories here. I grew up in the country and I too would use a pillow case. We had to walk and some of the houses were at least a quarter mile apart. At least we wore off some of the sugar high before we made it back home. Mom had no candy rules. When it was gone it was gone. My binging started early!

Glad to see you Mul. Hi to all my pals. All goes well, we should be in AZ by Monday. I'll take another day!

Good to hear you got there safe and sound Rava, now you can up with what's been happening with your Florida friends.

That's great news about your knee Ginger, maybe still take it easy on it for a bit longer till it's improved even more. Have a safe trip to your winter home.

My brothers and I used pillow cases as well Jude lol. My older brother and I took out the two younger brothers for about an hours or so then got them back home. We'd empty out what candy we had then head back out for more. My mom would then put all the candy together and divide it equally among the four of us which we all thought was okay.

We had 34 kiddos last night and had bought enough treats for around 50 so my sweet tooth will be happy for a few days lol.

Cross post, Jude. Thanks for the walk down Trick or Treat memory lane. The pillow case was a smart plan. I always knew you were a smart cookie!

Thanks for that festive Halloween decoration in the Cafe, Cowboy! I can't imagine that they wouldn't still be doing Halloween that way, but I haven't been back there on Halloween since we moved. And as we all know, many things gave way during the Covid madness.

Mul, glad you stopped in. It's been a while!

Wow Ginger! That's great news about your knee. Let's hope the trend continues. Keep doing whatever it is you are doing. Do you attribute it to giving it rest for the most part? Hoping your travels go well and the travel time passes quickly.

24 more for all of us here, please and thank you.

Dill, I also have great memories of Halloween when I was young. My parents would send my younger sister and I out with our older siblings, who were supposed to be watching us. They quickly ditched my sister and I, which didn't bother us in the least. We didn't have fancy buckets or bags to gather our loot; we always used an old pillow case, which holds a lot of candy! We had 3 trick or treaters last night, only because they live across the street.

Sounds like you had a busy day yesterday, but I bet that it's good to be home!

Safe travels today Ginger! Good news about the knee!

    Hi Mul!

Looking forward to another 24 hours of serenity...

    Wow, I hadn't realized I haven't posted in almost a week....

Walking around different neighborhoods it's always fun seeing the different houses and yards decked out for halloween (some really go all out). No trick-or-treaters here as I'm in an apartment, but we might check out the Lost Souls Parade tomorrow with some friends and their kids, so that should give a good halloween experience. I just hope the darn fireworks don't go all night toinght.

Anyways, have fun everyone, happy halloween!

Good afternoon Cafe. Late check in. We are back in Florida and this morning I got up and voted and then went grocery shopping, tending the garden, ETC and the day has gotten away from me. Hope everyone has a great halloween! We dont get kids here so I have no candy. That is probably better for me. LOL. 24 more. Safe travels Ginger. I know you are dreading that drive from hell!

I tried a few times to log on yesterday but couldn't, then my day got going and never stopped. Lol

Rava, thanks for explaining and i hope your trip went well. We head out tomorrow and im dreading the days on the road.

Doc said he's happy with my progress and range of motion. He's hoping I continue to improve and never need a new knee. I sure hope he's right!

Busy day today, I'll take another day of freedom!
