I love salmon on the grill, I cook it just like you, QW. But instead of barbeque sauce, I just use a light dry rub.

I agree with everyone else Ori, great quotes this week!

I think the bottom line is just what Dill said, we have to believe in ourselves, believe that we have the strength and courage to do what needs to be done. That's not to say we have to go it alone though, everyone needs a bit of help now and then. Reaching out for help when we need it most is the key to most successes in life.

Yep, I'm hungry too after reading all the cooking going on! I can smell the deer in the smoker from here Jude! I'm not a big curry fan Dill, actually not much on trying many spices, but I do like "hot" spices. Not so hot that you can't taste what the spice is on, but just enough to give it that extra kick!

My little buddy took me for our usual 6km route this morning in absolutely gorgeous weather. We’re supposed to warm up to 20C or 68F later on today so that means barbecue! NY steaks thawing as I write this. Can’t wait!

Mr V, I’ll have to try salmon with a dry rub. Sounds delish. As a kid growing up on the west coast, we often had salmon but it was always boiled, very bland and as a result, for years I avoided it. Now, done on the grill, it’s one of our favourite meals.

My tummy's grumbling, too, as I read what you're all cooking! It's 11 am here though.. I'm going to make a tuna salad with cucumbers, peppers, pickles, red onions, yogurt and mustard.. and I'll see what else I have in the fridge..
I went on youtube to listen to Peepers 'cause I didn't know what they were.. thought it must be a bird.:happy2:
Berlin is quite a green city so we do have a lot of bird activity.. right now I hear blue tits, sparrows, crows, black thrush/blackbird (this one I love!), starlings. I guess those are the main ones.. They make me very happy!

45 degrees here in N.Y. and cloudy. The weather forecast is calling for some snow tomorrow. Gee whiz, give us a break already!

Not sure if I'll hear the peepers in the morning or not. (they might be covered in white stuff.) [MENTION=7944]dill[/MENTION]...I think that it's a great idea to record the sound of the peepers! They only sing for a short period of time, and then everything gets quiet again. Great idea to record them! Awesome sound to play year round, especially just before you go to bed at night!

Went out to dinner with some friends last night, and everyone had a beer with their meal. Man, did it look good, and the temptation to have "just one" was very strong. I just tried to remember how I would feel afterwards. To lose everything that I have worked at for the last 8 months just wasn't worth it. So glad that I said no.

50F cold, cloudy, and windy.
No bike riding today. Went 20 miles yesterday, fought the wind the last 5 miles, felt like 15, lol.

The steaks were wonderful if I do say so myself. Looking forward to many more barbecues this summer.

We’re off to Canmore tomorrow for a couple of days, close to the mountains. Since we’re treating the family to a week in Mexico next winter, we’re just doing a couple of short, local escapes this summer. Looking forward to mountain air!
