Good to learn that he too is left handed. My apologies to those who may have already heard this but, as we know, the left side of the brain controls the right side of the body and the right side of the brain controls the left side of the body, therefore, left handed people are the only ones in their right mind!

An absolutely gorgeous sunny day in southern Alberta with temps in the low 80’s F. Tomorrow it heats up to the low 30’s C, low 90’s F. As I’m writing this, I’m sitting In the shade on my deck watching tree swallow babies being fed non-stop by their parents. Reminds of what life was like with 3 teenage boys in the house!

Thanks for looking after things for me this morning [MENTION=7944]dill[/MENTION], and thanks to all of you for the well wishes!

You have one cranky, tired, thirsty, and very hungry cowboy! I’ve been poked and prodded, needled and re-stitched, been moved to 3 different beds, and now they tell me probably no surgery for me till tomorrow morning!

The good news, the surgeon took out the temporary stitches, looked at what needed to be done, and figured it would be a pretty straight forward surgery, so here I sit in the o.r. waiting room ward waiting for my number to come up lol. If no o.r.’s become available in the next hour or so, I get something to eat and drink! Stay tuned for the continuing drama lol...but I’ll see y’all in the morning!

I’m hoping this will be my end of this saga lol! When the surgeon did rounds this morning, he said that they are going to keep me on call for an o.r. room till 3 this afternoon. If nothing comes available, they’ll move me to a procedure room then use nerve blockers and freezing and do the surgery without putting me to sleep. They like to have the patient put under so that there is no movement in the arm while he’s repairing it, but they want to get it done as soon as possible so that the healing process can start. So one way or another, I’ll be going home tonight after supper sometime!

Cowboy, I hope things went well in hospital and that you’re soon back to normal.

A scorcher here today, 35C or 95F for the opening day of the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth - the Calgary Stampede. And temperatures are usually 5-10 degrees warmer at the grounds. Not for me, I’ll take AC comfort anyday.

Off to the local farmers market in a bit. As a retired economic developer, I try and support every small business I can. Today’s purchase will be a set of disc golf frisbees for the grandkids. The entrepreneur selling them is 14 years old and this is his first business venture. I admire entrepreneurial people!

I was out on the back porch very early this morning, and heard 3 different screech owls calling to each other. I've never heard that many at one time, and it was pretty neat to hear the different sounds that they can make. I didn't stay out too long as it's only 49 degrees....quite a change from the hot and humid weather that we've been having.

After a successful 2 hour wide awake surgery late yesterday afternoon, they repaired 10 severed tendons, 1 nerve, and 1 muscle. They kept me in another night to see how much pain I’d be in after the nerve blockers wore off. Grateful that I was able to through it with 2 Advil!
