Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...
Worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Just get through today. Tomorrow will look after itself when it becomes today, because today is all we have to think about.
Friendship is not about how many friends you have or who you've known the longest. It's about who walked into your life, said "I'm here for you", and proved it.

I liked the quote this morning lifechange, and it can be for so many things that happen to us. Right away I thought of this diet the Doc has me on to lower my cholesterol. Sure, I miss lots of the food I was eating; potato chips, cheezies, bacon, to name a few. But I'd sooner give up on those than to have to go on some chemical drug to get the job done.

I agree with you Rava, I'd stay on DST as well if given the choice, prefer to have the extra hour in the evening...

I wonder why they don't treat booze the same as cigs, no advertising, and out of sight, at least up here in Canada... Wonder how they'll treat marijuana, will we soon be seeing commercials everywhere of people lighting up a joint lol.

30F and sunny. Warming up today
Even as a kid, I always thought, why not change the clock by 1/2 hr and leave it there. What difference does it make any ways, the sun's gonna come up when it comes up.
Yes, Another 24 please

dill, I can’t say if I noticed/felt any difference between quitting cigarettes and alcohol. I think I might apply to my al quit what I’ve done with smoking - I’ll always consider myself a drinker, much like I consider myself a smoker, just one who hasn’t touched a cigarette in 35 years. Time will tell but I think it’s important to find whatever works and stick with it.

I was saddened to hear our company who had also visited family in British Columbia say that they all drink too much. In particular, my brother’s daughter and daughters in law drink to excess every weekend because “they’ve earned it”. Not the best example to set for their kids.

Mr V, the only problem I see with moving clocks only half an hour and then leaving them there is that it makes sense! Now, if only we could get governments in North America to agree....

Have a great af Tuesday everyone!

Got a chuckle out of your "makes sense" comment Quit wining. So true!

Such a true quote, lifechange. Worse feeling in the world was waking up at 3am and feeling that self-loathing, then waking up for the day only to feel that again. Yuk! No thanks.

Both my parents were heavy smokers. I Remember them bragging to friends about how many packs they smoked a day. Seems like 2 or 3 was the norm. Dad died of cancer at 59 still smoking then Mom quit cold turkey. She was smoke free 35 years. I hated the smell and never touched the things. I always said that was a good thing because with my addictive personality I'd play hell ever quiting. I'm so proud of you abcowboy! You've got this!

I'll take another 24, please and thank you!

Great quote today, lifechange.
I took an extra shift at the coffee shop this week to fill in for someone who is spending the month in Florida. I'm feeling kind of worn out at the end of day 2. I really enjoy the job but I think once a week is quite enough for this retiree.

I'll take 24 more, please and thank you.

Dont forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!

If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.

I'm not so sure about that quote lifechange lol, I get to start anew each day I wake up! I guess it is true that I can't go back and right the wrongs I did when I was drinking, but I can make sure I don't do them again. Maybe it's not a new beginning, but it's a new day to me. But I do like the fact that it reminds me not to worry about the past, that I can do whatever it takes not to let the past repeat itself, and if I'd stayed the same, there was only one ending for me....now, I get to write my own ending!

No geese up here yet Jude58! Good thing too as there's still 3 feet of snow in the fields! As I read your post, it made me wonder what we all see that tells us spring is here. Around these parts, most folk consider spring has sprung when they see their first gopher lol.
