[MENTION=24196]Rava[/MENTION], thanks for the tip. The humidity is hard on us desert rats. We did a southeast loop back in 2017 and from Missouri on it was stiffling. We had never experienced that kind of humidty! I guess you get used to it but we weren't there long enough for that to happen.

Yesterday was very enjoyable. We we started off the day with a walk along Policeman’s Creek, I assume so named because the original North West Mounted Police building is right beside it. Much of the property is now a community garden. After more retail therapy and another soak in the hot tub, we enjoyed supper at a small, local restaurant. We decided to go for a drive and we’re surprised to see 7 cow elk running along the street, right in a residential area of Canmore. So nice to see but I bet Jessie would go nuts if she saw them!

Looking forward to getting home later today. The work at the house is apparently done so we’re anxious to see how it turned out.

Nothing on my calendar today except for mowing. It's a great feeling to have no appointments or commitments. I did an extra day at the coffee shop yesterday so I feel like I need the rest! That coffee shop job is easy enough but getting there by 6:00 is what does me in!

I hope the work is done to your satisfaction QW. Nice you had the little get away. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

56F and sunny, last cool day, heat wave coming, summer like temps on the way.
Like Dill said, you don't really get used to the humidity, you just learn to live with it.
Looks like a beautiful area, QW, Lake Louise is on Mrs. V's bucket list, gotta add Canmore.
Trying to get some work done on a chimney at the house, stressing me out. I've called over 15 contractors, only 3 have called back, one never showed, we'll see if the other 2 will. Very frustrating.

The work done on our house while we were away turned out great. We’ve asked the contractor to do a few more things.

So frustrating when trades people don’t show up/return phone calls Mr V. I retired as an economic developer/small business consultant and one time I dropped into a bar for a drink and overheard two tradespeople complain about how slow business was. I knew them both and suggested if they worked on their businesses instead of drinking beer, their businesses would do much better. They didn’t listen I guess as both were out of business less than a year later. And it was the fault of everyone but themselves.

At supper the other night in Canmore, I drank water. After the 3rd glass, when the server was about to fill my glass again, I said “No thanks, I’m driving”! You should have seen the puzzled look on her face before she started to laugh.

Mr V, Canmore is a great place to stay when touring Banff, Lake Louise and area. It’s less expensive and the scenery is beautiful.

We got a bid for the standing ridge metal roof for our house. Over $20,000 for a small home!! Metal is through the roof at the moment. Going to have to rethink this and go with architectural asphalt. Oh well... can't afford it all!

Up at the crack of dawn today! Hubby is having shoulder surgery this morning and we have to be there at 6:30 am. Ugh!

I'm going back to where I bought Levi on Sunday to look at more horses. It's killing me to have to send him back, but I'm just too old to ride broncs anymore!

Still sober despite all of the stress, and I'm grateful for that.

65F already this morning, getting up to the mid-high 80's, summerlike.
Finally got one contractor to show, bid was for $7,500. Let's see if I can get another few bids please. It is a complicated situation.
At least if I need plumbing, I know who to call, lol!
Headed to Florida tomorrow to visit my Mom, and 2 sisters. Be gone for a few days, Taking young Mr, V with me, he's got a few days off. So if you don't here from me, I'll be fine.

Jude, :thumbsup:. You have handled this disappointment amazingly. I can only imagine the turmoil you've been experiencing.

Cowboy, you have been hitting it out of the park with your quotes this week. I find myself thinking more and more about past events and behavior and I really need to take the advice of the last quote and let it go!

Ginger, I had to google 'standing metal roof'. I have seen more and more of those lately and I do think they are nice. But if the cost is too high then standard shingles will keep the rain out just as well!
