Re: ~cattleman cafe~ & another 24...

It stopped raining yesterday morning. The sun came out and it was a perfect summer day for being a tourist! We did the Put-In-Bay day trip with the golf cart rental, a trip to Perry Monument, and then a heck of a fish platter of wall eye! OMG it was good!!! I loved seeing the three flags of Britain, Canada and the US flying side by side. I thought of you Cowboy and QW! We ended the day on the beach as the temps had risen. It was a really nice day! Today we break camp and head home just after noon, so the heat shouldn't be a factor for us.

24 more please and thank you!
Dill

Another 24 hours please & thank you.

Off to yet another doctors appointment this morning but then get to dine this evening with our kids and grandkids. Looking forward to that. We’re bringing a few meals for their freezer among other things.

Ran into the manager of the liquor store I used to support. He commented that he hadn’t seen me for a while. I told him I quit and was surprised to hear him say he quit too. He says he can’t believe how much better he feels!

Have a great af Thursday everyone!

Sorry, Mr. V. I've been posting daily on FB and forgot about my non-FB friends! Plumbers and HVAC show up Monday and if all goes as planned, windows should be delivered Friday. They'll install the two 12'×8' sliding doors then and my son will install the rest. It's getting real now!

Sounds like you had a lovely vacation after all, Dill! And fresh walleye straight out of the lake = delish!

Cowboy, interesting quote that highlights the healthy side of comparing & competition. And how together we can lift one another up.

Mr. V, our windows & screens were filthy. I should’ve figured out the need for a window-washing service a long time ago. The house is brighter & sweeter-smelling now!
I’m still enjoying my little 5-mile but hilly bike rides; got one in tonight!

QW, that is just fascinating to me that a liquor store manager quit drinking!

Breathtaking view, Ginger.

Asking for 24 hours more of sobriety for tomorrow.

Home again home again jiggety jig!

We have a little camper called a Scamp so camping is not bad for us. The Scamp is only 26ft and not to difficult to pull. It only sleeps 2-3, due to limited space, so my son brough along a tent for he and his son. I don't know if any of you have ever been to East Harbor State Park but it is lovely! It's on the shores of Lake Erie and just a short ferry ride to the islands. There is a sandy beach that I was told is a mile long but I guess I'll have to go back next year to see it! The lake levels are at a historic high so the sandy beach is submerged nearly completely. There was just one small patch of beach remaining. The grandkids could go out a long way from the shore before they encountered any real depth.
Have you been there Mr Vervill? Put in Bay is a huge party destination as you likely know. Lots of bars and drinking. Not for us tho, I'm happy to say! On the ferry ride back from PIB there was an unfortunate fellow in handcuffs being escorted back to the mainland. He was obviously drunk, dazed and confused. Wonder what he had got up to that landed him in custody! He's probably slept it off by now and is wondering the same thing himself! LOL!

24 more please and thank you.

Happy to be home tho

80F hot and muggy already at 8am.
Dill, I've been to the islands many times, but not in the past decade or so. As a kid growing up in Cleveland, we went often. My dad had a friend who owned a cottage on Middle Bass, and we would stay for days at a time. My dad spent too much time at the old Lontz winery there, lol. Love fresh walleye!
Thanks for the photo, Ginger! Wow, that went up fast! looks awesome!
Thought provoking quotes, Cowboy.
24 more for all of us, please.

Had a nice visit and meal with the grandkids and their nice parents last evening. We drove through a nasty thunderstorm but were spared the golf ball size hail that hit parts of the city.

Cool and sunny when we walked this morning. Still haven’t found Mrs QW’s anniversary gift so guess what’s on my agenda today?

Have a great af Friday everyone!

Morning!

Dill sounds like a lovely time. We've not been up in that neck of the woods but hope to some day.

Such a true quote, Cowboy.

Another busy decision day! Have to get going. I'll take another 24, please and thank you!

Very hot & muggy here too. So thankful for air conditioning on a day like this.

I enjoyed hearing the description of your vacation, Dill, and also learning a little more about Ohio that way from you & Mr. V.
And yes, the guy being led away in handcuffs IS an apt depiction of the man in Cowboy’s quote! He makes drinking look like such a stupid thing to do.

I got my “wedding” haircut today for my daughter’s wedding in a week, and it’s too short!! So got all stressed out about that, but will have to learn to just chill & accept. Learning to chill & accept, laugh, and roll with things is important for sobriety. So annoying though.

Asking for 24 more hours AF!
