Hmmm, I don't think I have any friends that are non-drinkers, but the friends I do have aren't bothered by the fact that I don't drink. All the events at the Senior's Center are alcohol free and everyone seems to enjoy themselves anyway, I know Bubba and I do.

Good Morning Cafe. Dill, I like what you said about comparing both sets of friends. I dont have any non drinking friends here in FL. Everyone drinks. I am lucky that Mr. R does not drink. My resolve to stay sober is much harder in FL than up north. Cowboy, I am glad you have a snowblower and didnt have to break your back on wet snow. Ginger, glad you are getting a second opinion! That can never hurt. Looking forward to hearing what the second doctor recommends. Hi to Jude and Mul. Hope everyone has a safe and sober day. 24 more please and thank you.

Ginger, like the others, I think it's good thinking that you are going to see Mr. G's ortho doc. Hope you can get in soon.

Over the years I had two main groups of friends I had developed. One set were diehard drinkers, and the other set were nondrinkers. While I had been brainwashed by society that drinking made things more fun, I relearned through my nondrinking set of friends that that was absolutely not the case. I had some of my very best fun times with those ladies and sometimes we laughed so hard it almost hurt! I'm grateful I lived those two realities side by side. Thinking about it now I realize that it helped me be able to make my transition to healthy living.

Waves to all. 24 more for all of us here, please and thank you.

Ginger, I'm glad that you are getting a second opinion about your knee. Hopefully the new doc will find a way to fix the knee so that it's good as new.

I like that Jude, a grateful recovering alcoholic.

It's great you have group of non-drinking friends Ginger, a lot easier to socialize without alcohol being present. Good call on going to see Mr G's ortho doc, never hurst to have more than one opinion or diagnosis.

We ended up with only about 3 - 4" of snow Rava but it was wet and heavy and with the ice underneath it all from the freezing rain it was almost impossible to shovel it so I used the snowblower.

Jude you should ramble like that whenever you like! I found your post uplifting and it gave me the nudge i needed for today. Hope you have a good day at work.

Rava, I am a huge Billy Bob Thornton fan. Glad you and Mr. R are enjoying the series.

Cowboy, thanks for that awesome breakfast!

Ginger, I envy you your lovely group of non-drinking women. That's a great support for you, I'm sure. Do you all ever talk about it or are they just naturel non-drinkers?

24 more for all of us here, please and thank you.

I was at a meeting the other day and someone introduced themselves as a "grateful recovering alcoholic". I don't know why, but those words seem so fitting. Now whenever I get the urge to drink I see myself in a state of healing so why would I sabotage that process? Anyway I'm rambling on and have to get ready for work.

    No booze for me today!

Rava, our home and all our family are up north in central WA. I miss home this time of year but I'll be fine once Christmas is past and little sis gets down here. I have a lovely small group of (non-drinking) women I hang out with here so I'm thankful for that.

Thanks for breakfast, ABC. Waves to all my pals!

Busy day around here; best get at it. I'll take another day of freedom

Good morning Cafe and thanks for the great omelette Cowboy. I bet the snow is beautiful! I will be curious to see how much you ended up with. Glad it’s not as bad as predicted! Ginger, sounds like Mr. G is keeping good management of his eye. I am backwards on your winter home. You go south from your normal home or north? Hope everyone has a wonderful day. Mr R and I are enjoying watching Landman together. It’s on Paramount plus if anyone is interested. We have no exciting plans today but maybe take a bike ride. Hope everyone has a wonderful and relaxing Sunday. 24 more please and thank you.

Bubba's mom has the dry type Ginger so it's only vitamins for her. Her eyesight is deteriorating but at a pretty slow rate so that's a good thing.

There's lots of Christmas craft fairs going on around here as well. I think Bubba only went to one and didn't see anything she wanted so came home empty handed. We got the freezing rain they predicted, it was pretty light and only lasted for about an hour before it turned into snow. From what I can see out there in the dark we didn't get near the snow they thought we would but it's still snowing and not supposed to quit till around lunchtime. Not sure how slippery it will be under the snow with the freezing rain but sure glad we don't have to be out on the highway today.
