Another good quote, Dill! Thanks
I won't talk about weather. ;▪) But will say, hope to get out for a hike today!
Qw, thinking about you and the health stuff. Hope your alternate treatments are a success. If they are and you care to share, I'd love to hear what works. We are all faced with age related health issues.
ABC, glad your family is whole again, even if it is just a few days.
I'll take another 24, please and thank you!Last edited by Ginger999; January 10, 2020, 08:38 AM.

Another 24hours please & thank you.
Colder than a polar bear’s ear this morning, -31 windchill. Like Cowboy’s Hank, Jessie was very quick when she went out this morning.
It was a rough night, lots of pain in spite of taking the meds prescribed by my doc but at least al didn’t contribute to my discomfort.
It’ll be an indoor walk today then time to rug up (as they say in Oz) and Netflix!
Have a great af Friday everyone.

Re: ~cattleman cafe~ & another 24...
You guys in Canada are crazy cold now!! That’s dangerous. We have snow coming finally, and kind of a lot.
QW, I thought your medical appointments were for your wife! Sorry...more worries.
I love the quote for today. That is a good message for us.
My knee is slowly healing. I’m still hoping for a good outcome. Not so sure though; it seems loose.
Going out with visiting family tonight for dinner, so will be around drinking for a couple hours. So, hoping for an easy AF time!Last edited by Slo; January 10, 2020, 10:26 AM.Once a pickle, never a cucumber again.

24 more please and thank you.
QW, I am sorry you are having pain. It's especially bad when it affects your sleep. I hope you can find relief.
Slo, that's a concern about your knee feeling "loose". When do you next see your doctor? Have you begun PT? You have had a lot going on in your life lately! I bet your daughter and grandson are keeping you busy.
It's a rainy, stormy day here. The high today will be 66F (19c) but the rain will keep us indoors.Dill
Dont forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!
If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.

5:45am in Alberta, I'll have 24 more please, and thanks...
It's a balmy -20C (-3F) this morning with a light dusting of snow to take care of. I had to laugh at Hank this morning, he took care of his business then sat in the snow and just stared out into the darkness. Pondering life and death and such I imagine lol.
In the past 24 hours, these people have signed in for 24 hours of sobriety:

Another great quote to end your week dill! When I was drinking, I figured if I could change things around me, and the people around me, I'd be able to drink as much as I wanted without feeling bad about it. Somewhere along the line I figured out that changing things around me wasn't going to change me at all. But when I quit drinking and changed myself, things around me started to change. All I had to do was change myself...
Not sure what kind of pain you're going through Quit wining, but if surgery is the answer, then you might have to bite the bullet and get it done. When I cut my arm, I seriously considered just having it stitched up and work around having to manually open those three fingers and thumb, and if I would have still been drinking, I definitely wouldn't have had the surgery. I'm not back to 100% usage, probably never will be, but so glad that I did have everything repaired! And speaking of pain, I always laugh when doctor's or nurses ask you to rate your pain on a scale from 1 to 10. How can I rate my pain level if I don't know what level 10 feels like lol.
Just wondering if you're still looking for a job narilly or did you find something?
I think Bubba and Hank will probably head back to Vegreville after lunch. This break in the cold snap and snow will make her drive safer. She doesn't like to drive at night or when it's snowing, so if she doesn't go back this afternoon she'll probably be stuck here with me for the next few days as the temps are supposed to plummet and more snow moving in this evening for the next three or four days. Sure hope the snow moves in a lot quicker lol.Last edited by abcowboy; January 11, 2020, 08:15 AM.Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. Re: ~cattleman cafe~ & another 24...
Another 24 hours please & thank you.
Thanks for the concern about my health Cafe friends. While the majority of medical appointments I’ve mentioned have been for Mrs QW, old age and a nagging back injury from a car accident several years ago are catching up with me. I have an appointment Monday with a specialist and hopefully will get some relief. Years ago, after the accident, I was told by a doctor that I would need surgery to fuse discs at some point but that I should delay the procedure as long as possible. It’s to the point now that sleep is being disrupted and putting on socks and shoes is a new experience in pain. On that scale of 1-10, I’d say it’s a 7.
However, compared to what Mrs QW is dealing with, this is nothing. I haven’t shared much of this with her because she doesn’t need something else to worry about.
It’s frickin’ freezing out there this morning, Fyuck describes it perfectly!
Have a great af Saturday everyone.
