Re: ~cattleman cafe~ & another 24...
Jude, good quote and reminder that even crappy hands can be played well. Sorry about the slip. You're back and that's what matters. These are indeed difficult times. Never thought I'd see the day we'd need to shut down like this! Please let us know when you hear about your clients results. Sending prayers.
My knee is still swollen and range of motion is limited. May do a video chat with an ortho doc this week.
Rava, you guys still heading home this week? I think I'd stay at the beach, if it were me!
I'll take another 24, please and thank you!

Re: ~cattleman cafe~ & another 24...
Another 24 hours please & thank you.
A beautiful sunny start to the day although there’s much needed rain in the forecast.
Things are gradually returning to normal here although it will be many months before everything is open. One of Alberta’s most important industries is tourism. Over the past few days the mayors of resort towns like Banff have told visitors they’ll be welcome once the Covid-19 threat has passed but until then, please stay home. Hopefully people pay attention.
My sister and brother in law are both doctors and they have experienced discrimination because they work in health care. They have worked countless hours to care for their patients like most in their profession and take great care not to expose themselves and others to this virus. We need to find a better way to thank the amazing health care workers other than military fly-bys.
Sorry that some of our Cafe friends have slipped recently but glad everyone is back with us!
Have a great af Sunday, stay safe, stay well, and don’t assume that because a politician says it’s OK to go back to the way things were, it’s safe.

Thanks for the great breakfast, Cowboy!
Here's some positive research I thought I'd share. According to this study covid is not as easily passed as was originally feared:
Coronavirus: No case of a child passing to an adult exists, evidence review showsDill

I’m over in Vegreville now, finished round one of spring harvest lol. We had about 1500 acres to do and figure we got about 1100 done this go around. So now it’s just to wait till it dries up more then go around to all the fields again to pick up what we couldn’t this time. I won’t be on a combine next go around as the farm boss says we’ll probably try seeding on Wednesday, so I’ll have a few days here in Veg with Bubba and Hank!
Nope dill, I didn’t make it through without getting stuck lol. I got stuck twice, not bad considering the field conditions!
Hopefully they’ll find out what’s wrong with your knee Ginger999, possibly ligament damage?
Sorry I didn’t get much chance to comment on your quotes Quit wining, but they were spot on as usual!
Opening the casino’s might be a bit of a stretch right now paulywogg, but they need to start opening businesses up sooner rather than later before there’s a total meltdown of the economy. With China holding a large portion of the world’s loans, maybe the conspiracy theories aren’t that far fetched. Or maybe I’ve been reading too many spy novels lol.
When I read about casual slips, I used to shake my head and wonder why people just can’t get it right. And Bubba reminded me about the pot calling the kettle black. And she was right, I had my own fair share of slips over the years. The important thing is that you’re not giving up on long-term sobriety! Y’all will get there when your time comes, as long as you keep moving forward...

I think that most of us are sailing in rough water these days, but for the most part we have managed to stay afloat!
My friends covid test came back negative thank God, but she is still in the hospital with a case of C-diff. Hope that she can come home soon...I really miss her!
Talk about being in a rut abcowboy! How did you ever get out of that mess?
Another 24 please and thank you!

Cowboy, I imagine it was a real process getting out of that rut! You have a good track record for getting yourself out of ruts tho. I love the picture and I especially love the shadow in the bottom right of the frame. The ultimate 'selfie'!
Jude, great quote this morning. I love the Imagery of the storm and staying the course. some times the the helmsman loses control of the rudder briefly. But getting right back in control of it saves the day.
Ginger, I hope you can get in to your doctor one way or another. I did a telehealth visit with my doctor and it was easy and a good experience. I wonder if you'll need tests.
QW, that's awful that your sister and BIL have suffered discrimination. They should be praised and thanked! I wish I could do it but since I can't, I'll make sure to do it here in my world at my next opportunity.
24 more please and thank you.Last edited by dill; May 4, 2020, 05:27 AM.Dill

Re: ~cattleman cafe~ & another 24...
Good morning. Glad your friends test was negative Jude. Thanks for the quote this morning. I feel like I’m sailing in a raging sea and doing my best! Cowboy, what a mess your combine is in!!! Ginger, we are staying a few more weeks. With Florida opening back up slowly, the weather is perfect and to go back north and be quarantined is not what we want to do. Kind of wish we lived here full time. That wish may come true someday. Hope your knee is getting better! Another 24 for me please and thank you.

That's great news about your friend, Jude but a bummer about the c-dif. Hope they can get that under control pronto! A really good quote too.
Good idea to stay put, Rava. This isolation is wearing on everyone. Best to avoid it if possible, for sure!
What a mess, ABC but nice to get some much needed time with Bubba and Hank. Enjoy!
I'll take another 24, please and thank you!

Great news about your friend Jude58!
With all 3 of the combines getting stuck so often, we got pulling them out down to a routine lol. Once the track tractor got over to the combine it was just a matter of hooking the tow strap to the hook on the back of the combine and the front of the tractor, then yarding it out backwards. All in all about a 10 minute job.
Well, the weatherman was right, rained throughout the night and still raining this morning. Might not get to seeding on Wednesday after all...Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...

Re: ~cattleman cafe~ & another 24...
5:33 am in Vegas another 24,QW how were they discriminated against? I can't even imagine how anyone could treat them bad, especially now knowing how hard they've worked thru all this mess! Yes Rava stay put for a bit, it's very frustrating that places are still closed, like Cowboy said, of course they can't just open up the casinos here(although they have been arranging things for "social distance" but it's time to let some of these smaller businesses open, I need my Bath and Body works haha, no seriously I went to Walmart last Friday and it was jam packed, funny the virus only attacks small business but avoids Walmart (highly doubt it)I have too much shit to do today and tomorrow to drink:sohappy:
I'm taking care of the "tomorrow me"

Re: ~cattleman cafe~ & another 24...
Another 24 hours please & thank you.
Cool & wet here this morning too. We might miss our morning walk.
My sister & brother in law were asked at a store entrance if they worked in health care. When they replied yes, they were told they couldn’t come in until the virus was over. My brother in law asked for a supervisor and when he arrived, took out his membership card and destroyed it in front of him. Then they turned around and walked out.
As a former economic developer, I try to avoid big box retailers in favour of small businesses. One of my favourite local small businesses goes above and beyond when it comes to keeping everyone as safe as possible by limiting the number of people allowed in, having sanitizer available throughout the store, frequently disinfecting surfaces and ensuring patrons observe social distancing. Pauly, Jessie and I pass our WalMart store on our walks and I’m amazed at how casually people are treating Covid-19. If this virus is going to be eliminated, imho, people are going to have stay home and take the precautions recommended by scientists ( not necessarily those recommended by politicians!). Being stuck inside isn’t fun but short term pain, eh?
Stay safe everyone and have a great af Monday.

Another 24 please, raining in yyc at 9:53.
I try and go to small businesses too, especially in our neighbourhood. I love the take out Wednesdays that everyone is doing in Calgary. It gives me a whole day off cooking!
Have a good one everybody and don't drink.Narilly
