Re: ~cattleman cafe~ & another 24...
Really good to see you, Tony! I'll go for another 24 with you!
I'll be interested to hear how your grandson's experience goes, Ginger.
You know, QW, I have been in the dental chair with a hangover! Not good. Of course, nothing is good with a hangover.
You know, I have a lot of regrets from my drinking days, but your mention some how reminded me of many times I do regret. Including showing up many times at work seriously hungover. Ugh.
Yes to 24.Last edited by dill; September 9, 2020, 09:14 AM.Dill
Dont forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!
If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.

Tony, great to see you back in the Cafe! Anything your friends here can do to help, let us know.
Dill, I too have done lots of things while hung over, including dental and doctor appointments. It wasn’t pretty! And there were many days my head was hurting when I got to work. Isn’t it great we don’t do stupid stuff like that any more?

Today is going to be a darn good day not to drink!Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...
Worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Just get through today. Tomorrow will look after itself when it becomes today, because today is all we have to think about.
Friendship is not about how many friends you have or who you've known the longest. It's about who walked into your life, said "I'm here for you", and proved it.

Great to see you back Tony! Those physical symptoms sure suck, but the good news is that they don't last forever, it just seems that way. Now the mental part of it is what needs the most attention during and after the other symptoms abate. That's what we're here for, to help you get through those times when you don't think you can make it without a drink...you can, and you will!Last edited by abcowboy; September 10, 2020, 10:45 PM.Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. Re: ~cattleman cafe~ & another 24...
Rava, I loved the quote and graphic. It was such a hopeful message and perfect for all of us here. I also couldn't help thinking about that little seedling and the tremendous strength and effort it puts forth pushing it's way thru the ground to get to the light. It takes tremendous strength to get started. We have all been there, and sadly many, many times! But it does get better. And we each can grow into a newer and healthier and happier self.
Gosh Tony, that mental aspect can not be understated. Hang in there.
Stirly, nice of you to stop in and offer support and suggestions. Great to see you! I was here when you first came on MWO and I often followed your posts. As I recall music was a big part of your early days... Does my memory serve me correctly?
24 more for us all, please and thank youlLast edited by dill; September 10, 2020, 07:36 AM.Dill

Keep coming back, Tony. Like Mr. V said, get over to that toolbox and keep checking in. Stirly was spot on with that advice. Good for everyone to hear, I'm sure! I know it was for me. Good reminder.
First day of virtual school was brutal with lots of glitches but we got through it and I'm hopeful tomorrow will be better. I feel so bad for the kids though. This is necessary, I know, but such a terrible teaching method for young ones.
24 more please.....
