Ate at the German restaurant for Ocktoberfest, it was fun. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't tempted/envious, looking at the mugs of beer passing by. Had a NA beer and was satisfied. The atmosphere was festive, with a band and servers in Dirndls and lederhosen.
Bike ride today to work off that cream-puff I ate, lol!

I don't really see why casinos wouldn't be open if they are at reduced capacity and there are rules for distancing, masking, disinfecting, etc. People have to have livelihoods. I see the economy as the lifeblood of a society. Without a functioning economy the society will wither and eventually die. I feel like I may be an outlier here, but I just thought I'd share my opinion.
It's been too cold for porch sitting here too, [MENTION=24080]Jude58[/MENTION]. But soon you will be retired and you will have all day to find a nice moment to sit on your porch! Yesterday I sat outside in the early afternoon with a very late cup of coffee. It was glorious sitting in the cool air but being warmed by the sun!

A trace of rain overnight, with rain in the forecast for today. I'm thinking that the farm boss will shut down combining for today. We're about 1/3 done, so a day off would be good for everyone!
Bubba has been over to Vermilion to pack a few boxes that she can haul in her Flex, and has a pile of things that need to be garbaged. I made the mistake of saying how good a pumpkin pie would be right now as I was reading food ads the other day. That turned into “Why don’t you make one”. Guess I’m baking today. Guess it’s another life skill I need!
Pauly, I agree that things need to return to “normal” but I hope those making the decisions are basing their thinking on science and not just money.
Parts of Canada are now in Phase 2 of Covid. It seems we’re much better prepared this time around and it will hopefully not be as severe as the first round.

It's a tad chilly this morning at 39°F, but the sun is supposed to shine later on with a high of 60°. Should be a nice Fall day!

We have a niece coming today. We haven't seen her in years! She moved out to Colorado to be near her brother and so we don't get to see either of them unless they come here to Ohio. We could make a trip to Colorado, of course, but we don't really travel much and when we do, it is usually to see our daughter and grandson in Louisiana. So, today will be special!

In Veg this morning, but will head back over to the farm early to get ready for a day on the combine. The farm boss called yesterday wondering if Adam was available to help out with harvest. The fellow that was running the 3rd combine got a full-time job and starts back in the oilfield today. 5:35 am in Vegas another 24,sounds like everyone had a good weekend, QW that's awesome you make your own pies, my pumpkin pie is usually via Sara Lee or whatever the store has premade haha, Mr. V I seen alot of "virtual" oktoberfest things being advertised, there's nothing fun in doing things virtual, glad you enjoyed yourself, Dill, glad you got to see your niece, Cowboy, it's fun working with family but in my case it gets hard to draw a line between being a mom and a coworker,hope everyone has a fabulous AF Monday!

Mrs QW has an upcoming medical appointment with a specialist at a hospital where there has been a recent Covid outbreak. When they call to confirm the appointment we’ll be asking them how safe it is to be there. This isn’t a critical appointment so we might just re-schedule. We don’t want get sick by going to the hospital!
A cool start to the day but dry and warming up later on. Cowboy, I expect the local farmers will be combining today here too.
