Re: ~cattleman cafe~ & another 24...
Another 24 hours please & thank you.
I totally understand not counting days. On previous quits I relapsed after reaching milestones so this quit I decided not to post on Roll Call. It works for me and I think what’s most important for each of us is to do what works for us. I have a link on my phone so I can check how many days it’s been anytime I want. But, like age, it’s just another number to me.
Mrs QW has a medical appointment this morning and is trying to talk herself out of going. Seeing this specialist has been rescheduled twice already. I said I would drive her to the appointment and wait for her. Touch wood, I think we’re good to go. She’s already stressing over an upcoming MRI scheduled for November. This is a new symptom of Parkinson’s I’m seeing. I’ll check with our program coordinator to see if this is common in people with Parkinson’s.
Have a great af Friday everyone!

Re: ~cattleman cafe~ & another 24...
I know I checked in yesterday but I don't see the post so I must've just not clicked send. I didn't say much just that you should print and frame those pictures, Cowboy!
Pauly Thank you for those thoughtful posts. I too have trouble with the word sober. I think it just has a negative feel to it for me. I like your "wellness". I'm going to go with that too!
24 more please and thank you.Dill
Dont forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!
If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.

Happy Saturday cafe!
61° this morning, so I'm on the back porch having coffee. Heaven! We also have a screened in front porch, and our latest project is to make it a four season room. Can't wait to sit out there and watch the snow fly!
I also don't count days anymore. I can understand how some people are motivated to do so, but it doesn't really work for me.
24 more please and thank you!

Re: ~cattleman cafe~ & another 24...
Good morning Cafe. QW Maybe your wife doesn't want to see the specialist because she is afraid of bad news or just sick and tired of Parkinson’s. You just never know what people are thinking. When my late husband was sick with cancer and the doctor called, sometimes we both would ignore the call. In a normal situation we would have jumped to hear from the doctor. Other times not so much. I’m glad I’m not the only one who finds counting the days not helpful. Our “wellness” journey is different for everyone and we have to do what works for us. Hope everyone has a great Saturday. Another 24 for me please and thank you.

5:40am in Alberta, I'll have 24 more please, and thanks...
In the past 24 hours, these people have signed in for 24 hours of sobriety:

Today is going to be a darn good day not to drink!Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...
Worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Just get through today. Tomorrow will look after itself when it becomes today, because today is all we have to think about.

A couple of pics from late yesterday afternoon...
It was so calm yesterday that the dust from combining just hung in the air making it very hard to see!
I like your wellness term as well paulywogg, it matters not what term we use, as long as it works for us! Just like counting days, it works for some, not for others. I never used to count days either, but the Roll Call thread was dying just like so many others, so I decided to post there to try and keep it alive.Last edited by abcowboy; September 26, 2020, 07:24 AM.Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. 5:38 am in Vegas I won't be drinking today-its disgusting! Cowboy, that dust looks thick but I like the calmness of the pic, I have wanted to start up an old thread but with not so many newcomers it'd probably just be me, I know NoraC and I had thought about doing the steppers again but it'd just be us two haha, QW, I'm sorry your wife is dreading the docs, she's probably burnt out on going, I think I'd be too if I had something that had to be managed long term, it's just like enough already! Jude the four seasons room sounds like a great idea, Mr. V yikes on the yellow jackets! Waves to gang and wishes for a happy AF day for us allI have too much shit to do today and tomorrow to drink:sohappy:

Another 24 hours please & thank you.
Yeah, we’re both tired of PD but we’re in it for the long haul so try to make the best of things. Procrastination is another side effect that’s recently shown itself. Frustrating for both of us.
Glad to read the comments about counting days. It really is up to us as individuals and whatever works is right. Having said that though, I like that special milestones are acknowledged with congratulations and cake. Cowboy, good for you to prop up Roll Call and for tracking our milestones!
Mr V, hope the pest extermination went well. We’re fortunate not to have many bugs here, don’t think I could handle yellow jackets, wasps, and other nasty bugs. As much as I love Australia, I don’t know how my son puts up all the bugs, snakes and other things they have. Stepping on your shoes before putting them on in order to kill anything that might have crawled in takes some getting used to!
Have a great af Saturday everyone.

Re: ~cattleman cafe~ & another 24...
Good Saturday morning everyone!
Loved the pics, ABC. We had heavy winds and rain yesterday, which got rid of the last of our smoke in the air, thank goodness!
Mr V, glad they found that nest! I've heard they can chew their way inside left long enough! Yuck😨
Hope everyone has a great day. 24 more please and thank you!
