Wrapping things up around here to head south the last week of October. I'm not the least bit excited. Normally, I'd be completely jazzed but not this year. Too much crazy stuff going on, I guess.

The airlines and resorts are making it tempting to travel by offering “free” Covid insurance. I know the travel industry is desperately in need of money but is that more important than traveller safety? Guess it is to them. I don’t think I’d want to rely on the quality of health care in some countries so, as much as we’d love to go south, we’re staying put.

It will be interesting to see what your local school does, Ginger. More schools in our area are talking about going back to in person learning. A handful started the year with it and have had a smooth enough experience that other schools are thinking about following suit. I don't know yet about my grandkids' school district. My grandson in New Orleans just learned that he is supposed to be returning to the classroom in mid October for in person learning.

Good morning and Jude, I appreciate your honesty. You are back and thats all that matters. Don’t beat yourself up. You are still better off now than you were before you got sober. That being said, I am hoping that schools get back to normal. My daughter is a teacher and she is just about in tears over trying to teach in school and on line as well. Kids are hacking into the zoom classrooms and being totally inappropriate. Can’t wait until everything gets back to normal. Hope everyone has a great day. I’m headed for an oil change. Big day! LOL

Another one here ready for school to open, Louie isn't doing good at all, he's been really down lately which is scary for a 7 year old, I asked him what was wrong and he says he just wants to be in school to see his friends, I know health is important but so is mental health and if restaurants, bars and casinos can be open then so should schools. 5:34 am in Vegas another 24, wishes for a happy AF day for us all!

Dill, great pic! When I used to walk early in the morning I captured a few good images. The light in the early morning can be beautiful plus we used to regularly see wildlife.

I meant to add this to my post yesterday when I was talking about travel. I told my suitcases we weren’t going anywhere this year. Now I’m dealing with emotional baggage

I couldn't have said it better myself, Pauly. The other day the CDC published covid survival rates by age group and the young children were in the 99.9% range! It's time to get back to living a more normal life now.

Here are the updated survival rates by age group:

0-19: 99.997%
20-49: 99.98%
50-69: 99.5%
70+: 94.6%

QW, I'm glad you liked my pic of the fog but I am certain you could've captured it better with one of your cameras and your expertise. That was my iPhone camera. It does a great job tho! The next day I took another picture on my morning walk with Tessa. Here's a slice of Ohio in Autumn:

Tessa was dragging that morning and the picture was taken just before her visit with the vet. He said we needed to adjust her thyroid meds. We did and I'm happy to say she is acting like she feels much better!
